Beautiful Salvia Officinalis stands stronger than this snow :)

So let's begin :)

Dear fellow Steemians I walked today thru my garden and captured some pictures that I think it might be interesting to show because I am happy to see that garden is alive even at winter time.

leek 2.JPG

Delicious and very #healthy leek that we are almost running out of it but I am not worried because spring is near.
This bed where leek lives at this moment is our test bed with only forest #compost soil. And from what I've seen last autumn this bad was very productive. We had carrot, broccoli, garden rocket, dandelion, cherry tomatoes and cicely there. And I am totally satisfied with it.

undug beds4.JPG

Those are our undug beds ready for spring bordered and unbordered with bricks that left from neighbors house and one lonely forgotten corn :)
Those beds are made only and only from composted cow manure. Maybe some of you think that is impossible but I am prety sure that is very possible to plant your plants only in compost from cow manure odler than nine months with best results you have ever seen before.
I am very sorry that I can't show you pictures when all is green but there is a time I just found out about this beautiful #Steemit community
So stay tuned this year for some greener pics :)

This little guy here is the toughest onion I've ever seen in my life hehe.

In those only cow manure beds, we were planting onions, garlic, cabbages, more carrots, radishes, beets, cucumbers, ordinary tomatoes and some potatoes :) and we are more than satisfied with our yields.

This is bonus one, our stash of homemade brandy #Rakia those two oldest barrels at the bottom are made by my father 20 years ago this is the real treasure.

Next thing I want show you are our threes of apple, pear, and our precious vine that makes us beautiful shade at hot summers and homemade vine and juices too.

For the end I almost forgot to mention that we have a little kingdom of #bees here as well that are crucial for better polination of our crops :) and precious nonhloride well that we use for our beautiful garden at summer.

You have a lovely homestead. You might want to use the #homesteadersonline tag to help Upvoted and now following, Welcome to Steemit

Thank you @gardengirlcanada i changed tag and added #homesteadersonline gif aswell

I am excited to see the progress of your homestead. You have a lot of established plantings which I hope to have here on our homestead. Setting up the infrastructure here has gone a lot slower then I was hoping for, but slowly but surely, right? We also have apples and pears but have a mildew and cedar apple rust problem with our apple trees. We are considering taking them out to plant more disease resistant varieties. Anyway, welcome to steemit!

I'll make a guide in few days for homemade Lactobacillus serum and Beneficial Indigenous Microorganisms for you and rest of interested Steemians as well.

Ooooooo thank you! I tried finding the copper mixture but struggled finding it. Learning how to treat the trees to make them healthy again would definitely be ideal! The apples are Granny Smith, which are my favorite! I've never heard of using a probiotic mix. I've made homemade vinegar using the apples after we skinned them. I have a 5 gallon bucket full with a mother covering the top about 3/4 inch thick. I applying that might help?

Try first garlic and nettle mixture and if that doesn't help Bordeaux mixture should do the job, for that your mix I don't relay tried it and don't know if it works sry, but try everything you can :) experiment that is key for success.

I am glad that you liked it, stay tuned if you want to see greener pics and thank you for review :)
Honestly, my friend it always takes a bit slower than expected but the most important thing is just to start without thinking about results at the beginning, you are right slowly but surely mother nature will regulate all things for you, don't worry. For that rust problem, I would try garlic and nettle mixture, if that doesn't work my second solution would be lactobacillus serum which should layer lives with lactobacillus that can be beneficial for two things:

  • enabling greater nutrient uptake
  • covering the surface of lives with beneficial lactobacillus and in that way preventing other bacteria or fungi (apple rust) to live there.
  • If that doesn't help try Bordeaux mixture which is part limestone part copper but for that, you will need to google :)

Wow -- that is a kingdom of bees! Your posts makes a great point that even in winter, there can still be things worth harvesting. Here's to a great year of growing. And enjoy pruning all your fruit trees! That's what I'm doing over the next couple weeks -- spring will be here before we know it! Happy gardening!

I am glad to see more people turning to nature :)
Pruning is like homesteaders Yoga hehe I enjoy doing it too it has a calming effect on me.
Every time of year is a good time to have a business with nature :)
If you want to make all year round harvests investigate geodesic dome greenhouses that is my next project for this year. Happy gardening my friend!

Lovely photos even in this sleepy season, neighbor! I especially enjoyed those "Olympic circles", a real treasure indeed ;) Do you know the variety of the old vine?

How do you manage to take care of this many hives! I'm amazed! My father in law has a few dozen hives, but it's a lot of work...

And lastly, I have a hunch that "toughest garlic" is actually an onion? ;)

I am very grateful for all your help my neighbor in those corrections because I sometimes misspell some English words but I will get better.

As for the vine varieties those are Cardinal, Prokupac, Italian Muscat White and Tamjanika.

And about hives, yes it is a lot of work but bees are beautiful and I conjoined forces with my older neighbor with his son and my teacher of technical education from primary school very strange combination but with all of them, that project runs very well.

Keep it in Olimpic spirit :) treasury indeed.

Last night @bobydimitrov I've forgotten to mention you about hives this is only winter solution when spring comes we are moving 90% of hives into to the mountains :)

You have a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing :)

Thank you for review :)
