New card game launching on the Ethereum blockchain. // Backed by Coinbase

in #gaming5 years ago (edited)

So... As few of you may know from looking at my blog, i am a fan of Steem Monsters and card games in general. I have been playing Hearthstone for quite a long time, a bit of MTG, even played Pokemon TCG and went on tournaments when i was a kid.
Im a huge fan of these kinds of games.
So naturally i pay attention when ever a game like this pops up on my radar. And one did. Gods Unchained.

@the4thmusketeer was nice enough to buy votes for the post he wrote about the game which is how i ran into it. LINK

The reason im making this post is very simple.

$

haha.

I have talked about this a few times but ill repeat it again. When the kickstarter/fundition campaign for Steem monsters was happening i invested a few hundred dollars in the game and came out with a ROI of over 300% and i still have enough cards to reach Diamond league on 2 accounts.
Thats how good of an investment Steem Monsters was....

I cant be sure what is going to happen with Gods Unchained, but from looking into the current pre-sale, the hype, Discord follower numbers, social media activity, etc. it seems to me that there might be some opportunity to be found there. (I stress again, I CANT BE SURE.)

Currently, 36.87% of genesis cards have been sold. 12,291 ETH/33,333 ETH raised. And the game is backed by Coinbase.

The gameplay shots ive seen look pretty good. The game looks polished and plays very similar to Hearthstone. Its not a draft card game like Steem Monsters.
How balanced will it be, whats the longevity of it? I cant say. But if those silly CryptoKitties have value then im sure the cards in this game will have as well.

Currently you cant trade the cards you buy in the pre-sale (Limited genesis packs) until the launch of the game in Q1 2019 since they are trying to balance the cards before they let the market decide the price.
Once the cards are unlocked and leave the "balancing beta", from how i understood it, the devs wont be changing their stats anymore and the player will own the cards as they were released.

I also found a site similar to "peak monsters" for SM that have a few tools to help you with looking through various cards with a comprehensive filter. You can also do a mass pack opening so you dont have to watch through every single pack open animation if you buy a larger number of packs. The pack opening animation is a bit annoying since it takes way too long for my taste.
You can also check out various custom decks submitted there. I found the site to be a bit easier to use then the slightly convoluted game website.

I cant say im a fan of Ethereum and paying gas to send a few dollars to someone annoys me immensely. Still, i bought around 30 packs because i believe some money can be made on this game and it could actually be a fun time.
And if i can make some money on the Ethereum blockchain that means i can buy some more STEEM. :D

And yes! Im going to leave my referral link here. If you will buy some packs for yourself, click the referral link. They send me 10% of your purchase and what ever i get will always find its way back into STEEM.

If you dont have a ethereum wallet, simply install MetaMask. Takes 2 mins.

Ill see you around and keep on Steeming!
