Thanks for two years on the Steemit Platform!
Two years on Steemit. I don't really know what to say about it. I obviously appreciate and enjoy the Steem blockchain as I am still here.
It's been a crazy ride for sure. I've met many wonderful people and am sure I have even let people down. One thing I know is I've shared more of myself on the Steem Blockchain than I ever imagined and many of you probably know me better than people I've known for a decade.
But isn't that what makes the Steem blockchain(Steemit, Busy, esteem, etc.) better than other social media platform?..
It's not always happy "life is good" fluff on Steemit but much of the material can be related to. It allows us all to gain an understanding of what others are going through in life. This helps us to apply lessons learned to our own life and to know we are not on this journey of life alone and it's not always going to be perfect.
This the real strength of the social media aspect of the Steem Blockchainto me....AKA COMMUNITY
It may not seem like it to others but Steem has improved at a rapid pace. Now we have poker, live video, radio show personalities, a fantasy card game, multiple Steem interfaces, food trucks, libraries... This is so far from where we were when I joined two years ago.
I know there are many improvements that need to be made, but if our past progress is an omen of the future...I am still very excited for what is to come.
I am currently trying to find my place again after an extended absence this year. One of the biggest surprises to me is how strong the Military Veteran Community On Steemit has become. This makes me smile very deeply in my heart and is more than I could have ever expected. This community is where I have spent most of my time lately.
Currently, I am contemplating how to get myself more involved with the Veteran community and may even make it a major part of my presence on Steemit. I know it may seem like I am limiting myself, but one of the topics discussed frequently is "How do we get the Steemit Military Veteran Community more involved with the rest of the Steem Blockchain?". We are somewhat of an "exclusive" community but we have many Veterans with talents that can spread (any many are already doing it) to other communities. Sharing the posts and skills of the Veteran Community with others is a way I can facilitate this interaction. So ideas are currently being worked on and it will be a matter of time before they are implemented.

One of my biggest weaknesses on Steemit is consistency. A good friend even called me a "serial quitter"...How is that for brutal honesty?. And truthfully I don't disagree. This is a habit I have in life too.
There are steps being taken to try and "fix" this. There are many life changes that have been implemented and many more I want to implement.
The only thing I can really say for those I have failed by quitting is I am still trying. I haven't given up when I easily could have.
So, that is what i have to write about my two years on Steemit on Steem Birthday(and my real life birthday).
Can you believe I joined Steemit on my real life Birthday?
This last picture is in case you were wondering if the sky is real in the first picture

Two years, wow, seems like yesterday I had found a new friend. Congrats on the anniversary, Lex!
Thank you @lydon.sipe. Yes, it has flew by very fast.
2 years! Nice! Don't be a serial quitter, be a cereal quitter. Forget about your cereal every morning cause you are too busy doing your steemit post =p
Love it. Thanks for positive cereal.
Lemons into lemonade again
You are not a quitter. Rather, I consider you an avid jumpstarter -
Like the Energizer Bunny that keeps going until the batteries are dead. You're down for a little bit and come back recharged.

Happy Steemit Birthday!
Good going man... Some great pictures there too.
Yeah, even though i am from Britain, as a Veteran i too will be involved...
I saw your post about the conversion van when I was doing the livestream for Veterans on Steemit that are on the Chairborne list. Are you involved with theMilitary Veterans of Steemit Discord at all? It's a community for Veterans from around the world. There is a strong community there and tools we have to support each other on Steemit.
Yeah i'm in the Veterans Discord...
What is your name on Discord. I am probably going to feel dumb.
