Impressions from Home / Eindrücke von Zuhause

Here I grew up - I would like to show some impressions of my homeland today.

Last weekend, we visited my parents in Upper Carinthia and I also took some pictures there ;)

The wilderness starts right behind the house: Mowing is done here, and then nature begins. On the left is the dam that holds the creek in his bed. On the dam are still a few meters way to a bank. From there you have to find your way, because the path that once existed has become overgrown too.

If you then searched for about an hour up a path through the steep forest, then you have this view of the other side of the valley to the mountain village Zwickenberg, which is located at an altitude of 1002 m and the Kreuzeckgruppe (mountain group) in the background.

Down we take another way, which is longer, but also more pleasant. Sometimes there is even something like a path.

Back in the valley, you can see the so-called "Mühlkopf". I can not say why the rock is so called, but it hangs over the village and every now and then small or larger pieces of rock break off and fall into the brook and forest below. From up there you have a nice view over the valley, but due to the fragility of the rock it is quite dangerous to go all the way to the front.

High above the village, there's the rest of the "Burgruine Flaschberg" in the forest. Everything around the ruin is almost completely overgrown, but next time I will try to get closer somehow.

Your homeland is very impressive indeed. It's great to be among wonderful nature like these; a lot of green trees, magnificent mountains, beautiful flowers (the white flowers are very gorgeous), etc. These look refreshing and relaxing. Very nice walk! ;)

Thank you so much, @tangmo :)
This is my home, and one of the places, where I can forget everything, relax and just be out there in the beauty of our nature.

You're welcome! That's great.....I can see, you have wonderful times there! ;)

Yes, I really love to be at home. Wherever I may live in future, this is my only real home 😁

You are so lucky! ;)

Yes, I am, thank you :)
I just don't find the time to be there more often.

You're welcome!

Hope you can find more times to be there in near future.... ;)

Not in the near future, but in a few years I will have plenty of time, when I retire ;)

you grew up in such a beautiful area the landscape is both rugged and so beautiful

Thank you very much JJ, and that's where I think I'll move when I retire to get old :)

I can see why it looks such a beautiful and laid back place

... and it's quiet, compared to the city - you can hear only birds and the brook behind the house, and sometimes a tractor or car on the small road, which leads through the village 😀

When One is retired I am sure we will appreciate Peace and quiet so much more, I envy your plans to move there, I will be moving to another city but not as busy as NYC but I can handle that to be close tot he grandkids :)

That's the plan - to have a calm and peaceful time in a small village where I know every inch :) ... but we will see, what the future brings. Maybe our daughter or our son will have children. I think, then we might decide to live closer to them, like you do :)

thats the thing with life we can never know where it will take us, Back when I was 29 in New Zealand I would never have guessed I would be here where i am now

Right, same with me, I would never have guessed I would leave my home or have a family with kids :) - But I have not moved by far not so far as you have ;)

What a great surrounding! Love the mountains, such great views. And Hopefully Mühlkopf will keep hanging there.

Thank you so much @tijntje 😊 I love it there too and visit my parents as often as I can. I think and hope, that the rock will stay where it is :)

Beautiful. Looks a lot like the mountains around here:)

Thank you Pryde :)
Canada looks a lot like Austria, but everything is bigger and wider - even forests in Canada are bigger than our whole country, I think ;)

Yes. We are the second biggest country but quite bit smaller than Russia:)

Canada is more than 100 times bigger than Austria, but has only about 4.5 times more inhabitants :)

Much of land is frozen, so that makes sense:)

That makes sense, of course :)

You just planted 0.10 tree(s)!

Thanks to @artmentor

We have planted already
8224.20 trees
out of 1,000,000

Let's save and restore Abongphen Highland Forest

Thank you so much @treeplanter 😊

Nice your homeland and view of the other side of the valley to the mountain village Zwickenberg photography.

Thank you very much, @kamrunnahar 😀
It's South Austrian countryside - a rather narrow valley with our small village, which has about 13 houses only, and it's my home 😀

Howdy sir johannpiber! what marvelous scenery and views, this was wonderful to see. What are those ruins of, a castle?

Thank you @janton 😊 This is the rest of an old castle, and next time when I am there I will try get to the tower and take closer photos.

That is some lovely country there. Do you have ticks in that tall brush?

Thank you @old-guy-photos 😊
Yes, there are ticks everywhere, but I haven't had any for quite a while, and I was always lucky, because I have never had any problems with these little bloodsuckers, although we have had at least one or two ticks on our body per week, when we were children.

What a nice landscape and you did a great writing about this.

Da fehlt jetzt nur da Wanderbier....

Thank you very much @detlev 😀

Hey @johannpiber, here is your BEER token. Enjoy it!

Thank you very much, @beerlover - because this is my first BEER token I will have a look at it :)
