A few days ago I was lucky enough to find a post that our friend @ mervancewalton published, where he invites us to participate in a new challenge, the slogan is to publish a memory or a memory that makes us feel good and was meaningful in our lives.

This post is the continuation of my story presented in advance, in which I ended up remembering how much I missed the neighborhood, when I went to live in Buenos Aires.

The separation of my parents and the bad situation of the country forced us to move to a very humble neighborhood outside the suburbs of Corrientes, I had a hard time adapting, however, once done, it was a beautiful adventure, something I missed from the first day in which I made the determination to travel to the federal capital of my country Argentina in search of a better future.

The year 1982 passed Our country was governed by the military dictatorship, the situation at the time was very similar to that of Venezuela today, with the aggravating circumstance that Argentina had to face a warlike conflict, called "Falklands War or South Atlantic Conflict" "Against the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, this was the worst decision that the government took of the military dictatorship.

Months after the conflict ended, I made the decision to travel to Buenos Aires, the federal capital was always characterized by having the best job offers in the country, tempted by progress, one morning I convinced my mother to sign a travel permit and a work authorization, the minimum requirements that he had to fulfill due to being a minor.

With only 14 years I undertook the best adventure of my life, with a handbag and $ 5.00 in my pocket, board the train that started from the terminal of Corrientes to Federico Lacroze-Buenos Aires. A trip that lasted more than 24 hours, with several stops and transfer to reach destination.

The situation of our home did not allow me to assume the cost of the trip, for this reason I decided to venture and travel stowaway without paying the ticket for the tram, something that I do not wish to anyone, I had to do many maneuvers not to be detected by the Inspector on board and get off the train halfway.

The day I left the farewell was very sad, my mother, my younger brothers and grandma cried for a week before my departure, mom was very worried, that would be the life of her 14 year old teenager traveling alone to more than 1400 km and without money.

Aware of the situation, I could not help but reassure her and give her a reason for money, emphasizing that if I had money, I would never make a decision to leave my family, these words reassured her.

However the grandmother took courage and in front of me she did not let go a single tear, took the little bag in her hand and gave it to me saying.

-Here has his purse, inside this his clothes and some homemade breads, that he loved with a lot of love, if he had money he would have bought something more to eat But you see! This is the situation here, if it had been different. You would not have the need to migrate in search of your personal growth.

- Be very careful, respect the elders, do not argue, do not use violence, unless to defend your integrity, in those cases remember the virgin of Santa Catalina, she will not fail you, remember as a child, in the stormy nights, his mom restrained him with just praying.

- Never forget your principles, your mind, your heart and your blood are of humble people who proclaim love and peace, be open and try to help, your heart is great, in the cave many more, from the hand to whom you need, share what you have. Remember that you multiply by sharing it!

-I do not know if you have noticed. You are not poor, you just need the money, because inside you carry an enormous wealth, a noble, affectionate, simple, loyal and helpful young man, these attributes that you have a dear son, it is difficult to find. Please do not lose it! The day you do it will be empty, do not change it for the money, when you are old it will give me the reason.

-Well, go son, you are enlightened, you will arrive wherever you want to go. Remember this is your house, here it will be for when you want to return.

36 years passed the words of the grandmother and I still remember as if it were yesterday, take my bag, the five pesos and after putting it in my pocket, I left for the terminal, take the Argentine train, who took me to the capital.

Upon arriving, get off at Federico Lacroze station, take the bus line 60 and travel aimlessly, get off at a place where I thought it was convenient for me, and I was right, that same afternoon I found work, my cunning and the Creole vivacity They helped me locate it, but that's another story.

As I said the separation from my parents was very traumatic, I missed everything that I had known before, however when I got used to it, I learned.

Face life!

I hope you have enjoyed these memories, be careful, there are many more to come!

Wow. What a story to remember and tell.
You were a very brave young man to do what you did.
I was never that brave to leave my parents at that age, but I know my mother-in-law who was 16 she also left her family to escape her country war which was El Salvador in the 80s, with no money not knowing where she was going, trying to get to the USA. So scary and very brave too.

This is a very common story in my country, the provinces were always very poor, since I have reason to use only Buenos Aires and some tourist provinces are fine.
thank you very much dear friend @joalvarez for this nice visit
