I really enjoy doing my little #ophumanangels projects. If I wasn't always stressing about money (currently: what to do to keep my electric from being turned off), and even had some extra to spend on it, I'd leave more gifts around for people who are ...hurting for money. Like, I'd go buy packs of socks and leave them around for homeless folx (socks are the most requested thing at clothing banks and shelters) to find; I'd leave more menstrual products for people in public bathrooms; I'd slip gift cards under doors and windshield wipers and in little free libraries and shit. I want to be a treasure surprise faerie. :)
But, you know, I've been stuck here struggling to feed myself, so I work with the supplies I already have and make notes and magnets and chalk and such. ;)

If I had the money for it, I would support some mad scientists to come up with some cool hydrogen stuff so we can get rid of fossil fuels.

That's very interesting. Having more money to be able to support causes/research I care about is one thing I sometimes think about. But everything I would do with money I think I'm waiting on crypto to be able to really do. Right now I just have enough money to not need to work while living a modest life, so I can only invest time and abilities these days. But I have an abundance of time, and could use that to increase abilities.

I hope someday soon you do have the money to support the work you want to see in the world. Cheers.

If you can't find anything to benefit yourself, why would others trust you to benefit them?
All I'm saying is, take care of your own needs first and then be in a situation to better take care of others.
Whatever path you choose, you will be successful and wonderful, but sometimes no path for a while is OK too. Sounds like you're putting pressure on yourself! What's your passion? If money is no issue simply do what you feel when you feel it!!
Take care Indigo and enjoy the rest of the weekend, always nice to catch your posts :-)

PS Did you claim your palnet tokens yet?

I don't understand your initial question. I don't need to benefit myself, so I'm not looking for such. I already have everything I need, so am looking for opportunities to continue benefiting others, even though I don't need to for money anymore. I'm wondering if the lack of money is the prime motivator for making the effort to get one's gifts out to people. Or in the absence of that, why not just lie in the hammock or stroll tree-lined streets most of the day?

But I am flirting with the idea of essentially doing just that and waiting for something to really move me from within. Perhaps I don't feel the propulsion to follow through on any significant service projects right now because there isn't one I should be doing yet. I'm only a couple years into retirement. That's not much downtime after 30 years of working. We shall see. Thanks for your comment.

I would approach all the giant manufacturers of single use plastics and get them to switch to biodegradable sustainable hemp products. NO BRAINER, we are looking into this. In area in India and Asia they are now making bottles from bamboo which degrades faster, but there's lots of water needs, there is also a company in L.A. that is producing bioware out of food compost.. So, this revolution in my opinion needs to happen now on a global massive scale...

I've had thoughts about approaching all the Airlines, if we could get 1 airline to switch to bioware cups/bottles, it would be a game changer. Every flight I take I have my own cup. I literally had an airline attendant insist on giving me a plastic cup and then another one, and boy did I make a scene!! Almost got thrown off the plane I was burning red!! I yelled what is this THROW AWAY PLANET!!!? I wrote a letter to Delta, no surprise no reply.

In America a MILLION plastic bottles are thrown away every minute, how are we going to have any clean water or land left at this rate...Many countries are banning single use plastics and here in Oregon manufactures are starting to create all kinds of hemp products. So the solutions are available. It's up to us to change our usage habits and thoughts.

Such as, what is my legacy? What will I give back to the Earth that gives me life and sustenance? A plastic fork, a straw, coffee cup or bottle that will take 400 years to degrade, is this the future exchange for 2 minutes of convenience.. think again please... BE THE SOLUTION...

I look forward to seeing this done. You’re right that it should be a no brainer. Says a lot about our world that it’s still needing to be done. Our technology is more evolved than we are.
