Zombie Adventure - Game 38 - Day 9 (May 9, 2019)

A small team of adventurers head out to find the forgotten village of Goldcrest. Unfortunately, the road to the village has been blocked by several land-slides and nobody has cleared the road so our brave adventurers had to leave their vehicles behind and continue the journey on foot. They encountered many zombies along the way and managed to leave the zombies behind by scaling a nearly shear rock wall. Unfortunately, they lost most of their weapons while climbing but they did get away from the zombies and are now entering Goldcrest.

Objective:

Investigate the village to see if you can find any gold and look for clues about why there are so many zombies along the old road. Follow the clues to the next stage (new game board).
Inside one of the rooms of the newspaper office is a post-it note that reads: Mayor seen arguing with the Clergy.

Additional twist: Before each player takes their daily turn, roll a D20 to see if you get any bonus. Please note that the bonus must be used during the CURRENT TURN. If you do not specify to which action you wish to apply the bonus, it will be applied to your first action where applicable.

Zombie Turn after the players made their moves:

All zombies pre-existing on the board move. Three walkers attack P2, rolling 3,2,2 (all miss). The Ninja avoids being harmed.
2 additional walkers join him.

Zombies spawn at spawn sites:

Zone 1 rolls a 2 - nothing
Zone 2 rolls a 4 - walker
Zone 3 rolls a 1 - nothing

I have this love/hate relationship with those low rolls! LOL

Oh crap I read that backwards. For some reason I just assumed that the first roll would be the d20 since that was first in my comment. I will keep a closer eye on this from now on.

I can't count the number of times I've made the same mistake. The dice-bots don't always respond immediately, so they do get out of order.

It has been suggested that I remove the bonus roll for simplification, but I think having it in ads a bit extra to the game.

I have an ax now @hhayweaver, so since I still have a turn left so I will drop down one and then tomorrow do a search, there. If I search before you and find a second ax I'll leave it for you to pick up, and that goes for a torch too.

No torch yet, But hopefully someone will get one, there are a lot of zombies on the board.

All items in a building are shown when the door is opened, so you need not search each room.

A walker. Hopefully player 9 and 10 have successful searches and do not spawn more zombies, then maybe I could barrow player 9's ax to take out the walker since I have a Can't Miss bonus.

I just re-read the rules, does the can't miss mean my search was a success, and everyone can ignore all my other comments?

I think that is correct you automatically find something and no zombie is spawned. The same thing happened a few days ago to P3 at the bus.
But now, let me see if I can find a zombie, it is my specialty.

To those who would consider jumping in to help P2:
Without a melee weapon, the best you could do is kill 1 walker per turn AND prevent P2 from using the shotgun. That means at least 2 others need to be there at the same time to actually make things better and not worse. Of course, by being there, you could end up distributing zombie attack hits which may help everyone stay under 3 hits. Consider the ramifications before acting.

I would suggest waiting for the hulk to be killed by P2 before jumping in. Then use your ranged weapons to prevent any more zombies from entering that space until P9 can get there to clean up inside the space. But you may see a different strategy as preferable, so don't take my word for it. This is YOUR game. Talk to each other and create a plan.

How does the actual rolling go for shooting into a square with a player? I know the player is targeted first, but how does that technically work?

I'm not sure of what the question is.
If anyone is inside the space with you and you shoot inside the space, the roll determines if you hit or not. If you miss, no harm to anyone. If you hit, you hit the other player. If you shoot OUTSIDE the space, then it works like any other shot.

For example: If P1 was inside your square NOW, you would have killed P1 with 2 hits at close range with 2 damage each. However, if you shot at the hulk to the north, you would have wounded the hulk and killed the walker with the first shot and finished off the hulk with the second.

I was actually wondering the other way...

If P1 shoots into my square... what are the chances that they would hit me versus the walkers?

100% chance to hit you before the walkers are hit. Of course the roll needs to be a successful attack or else nothing gets hit.
