Introduction: First steemit post...I'm coming out of blogging retirement after 15 years!

Yeah, you read that right. Of course back when I first started, it was HTML and they were Weblogs. Then came PHPnews, PHPnuke and other scripts that made things easier. I got out of it and never went on to fancy pants scripts. I was burned out so I had burned every bridge in the genre and faked my own death just to ensure I would never return. LOL I just wanted to be done, to be honest.

So why am I coming out of the woodwork to try this again? Well, unlike before, I have actual advice to share! You see, I'm in the process of a divorce. I've been separated for about 2 years now and during that time I've learned a LOT! Before I got married, I lived with my parents when I was a kid, went in to the Army, had roommates and then moved in with her. I had never truly lived by myself and therefore didn't have that valuable experience. I had to find a new place to live? Rent a townhouse? How the hell do I do that? What utilities do I need and who to call? You see, before if I had called one of these companies, it most likely was to complain about a service not being provided, but now I had to set up accounts and jump through their hoops. I had never started from scratch!

When I got my first place, I was slow to stock it with items. I had the basics and that was about it. I even used a camping mess kit to make some meals because it's all I needed really. Sure I was short on the "comforts" but I was high on freedom. You see, I had married the perfect woman. She was terrific, but over time as she climbed the corporate ladder, fewer and fewer of the things that made normal people happy were replaced by the corporate mentality, the micromanaging and MONEY! MONEY! MONEY!

Yeah, I like money as well! Life is a bit easier if you have it! The thing is, I just didn't need as much of it as she did. I preferred to live life as much as possible rather than put 14 hours in to the office. This of course wasn't the reason we split, but was a slight symptom. You see, she worked the financial field, and cheating in her business almost seemed to go hand in hand. Long story short, once I had proof, I was out. On the bright side though, remember that "high on freedom" thing I said earlier? Yeah, that itself is worth it's weight in gold, but the knowledge I've gained is most likely worth even more to someone who's gone through what I've gone through, and if I can take a bit of the stress off them by blogging the tips and tricks I've learned, then that's good enough for me.

Anyways, I've been thinking about doing this for a while now and Youtube is where I get a lot of my entertainment from as well as where I learned some valuable techniques for living life (inexpensively if possible as well), and one of the channels I subscribed to Rules For Rebels. He mentioned it like 2 months ago so I decided to give it a whirl!

This also signifies my first trip down cryptocurrency lane. John Mcaffee has been talking about it for quite some time, so that was an added bonus to me.

My future posts won't be as all over the radar as this one was, but I had to just get it out of my system and write. I refuse to dwell on the downfall of marriage and such because really, no one cares! I've read a few places where people poured their hearts out and I just didn't want to become one of them. People split up, big deal. The meat and potatoes of all this is to pass on knowledge. How did I prepare for the split? How did I manage to get 50% plus 1 night custody of the kids? What are the financial ramifications of splitting up and how can someone prepare? What do I do for cheap or free entertainment? What can I pass on to anyone who will eventually go through all of this? That's the stuff right there. Contributing my successes and failures so that others can be better prepared for what they're facing. And for some reason, it just seemed as though steemit was the one place to get motivated and get started with all of it.

So what's next? Well I've decided on a name for the blog and as soon as I buy the domain name, I'll share it. The title of this blog is a hint though, yet a vague hint. HA HA! I've got a list of articles I want to write. Yes, actual articles, not just a brain dump on a computer screen like this one is.

If you've made it this far, thank you! I know it was tough since I had no photos to post, jokes to tell or real talent to work with. LOL Also I'm unsure if I've properly tagged Rules For Rebels or not so here's the URL in steemit. A lot of great info I use for side jobs has come from this guy and I'm very appreciative. https://steemit.com/@rulesforrebels

Tomorrow I'll be volunteering at a PTSD Golf Tourney as the guy who hands out free beer, so hopefully there will be some interesting pictures there.

Take care,

SGSD

Hey buddy thanks for the mention. BTW, if you ever wanna mention someone just do @ and their name so for me @rulesforrebels for you @guyanddog . I dig the name by the way as well. What kind of dog do you have?

I thought that's what you said in your one vlog but couldn't go back and find it. HA HA!

I have whats called a Beabull. He's 3/4 Beagle and 1/4 American Bulldog. I think normally they're English Bulldog but he's definitely not English. I'm thinking about a name like Single Guy Single Dog for the blog. HA HA!

Those are cool dogs I've seen them before. Mine is an Olde English Bulldogge which I think is like majority English Bulldog with some pitbull, mastiff and american bulldog.

Well last I heard you say, you were thinking of moving. If you swing through PA, let me know and we'll have a doggo playdate! LOL!

I'm lucky to have a massive dog park nearby. We went last weekend and there was about a dozen dogs at one point running. Was a good day! Just make sure yours is up on it's vaccinations! That reminds me of another blog I want to do. How to do you dog inexpensively. I had mine vaccinated for rabies at about $20, and a 6 way + kennel cough for around $21 while avoiding the expensive vet appointment fees and add on pricing.

Also how I make him free pull toys, make all his food at home instead of buying the expensive store bought stuff, and groom him at home. I d take him to the groomer once in a while, but mostly I do it at home.

I'm currently writing a blog post on how I get my entertainment for free, the hardware, websites, programs, etc. Including the fight last night! Unfortunately I fell asleep before it came on. I'm brewing a sinus infection...ugh!

Do you buy the shots and administer them yourself? I had considered doing that. For a while I was trying to make my own dog food and/or doing the BARF diet basically raw foods, scraps from the butcher at the grocery store and eggs and carrots and potatoes and all that. Wound up being really time consuming and very messy but was thinking about giving it another go.

I'd love to see some posts about cheap entertainment. I cut cable a while back so I do Netflix and of course watcha lot of Youtube. Try to shop on Groupon and deal sites but always looking for more tips.

If I wind up in PA I'll definately have to hit you up. Havn't been out East in a while but the last time I was out that way I made a point to stop at Primantis and get a sandwhich, I'm probably spelling it wrong but I'm sure you know the place, they always feature it on food channel shows.

Yes, I buy all the vaccs (except rabies) and adminster myself. I also cook him up his food an have found less time consuming and messier ways to do it. Oh, and I'll include my sources for free protein!

I did the blog post about free entertainment. I'll tag you in the comments. I have yet to get in to groupon because I thought that was primarily events and I keep to the free local ones.

I've heard of Primanti Brothers but never have been there. We're getting one not too far from here I think. Mainly it's 5 guys, Buffalo Wild Wings and a few of the bigger chains around here.
