Rambutan ( Nephelium lappaceum )

Here are some photos of rambutan fruit that grows in front of my house.
People in my village named 'rambutan nyonya' and the age of this rambutan tree is very old.
In this season, it happens to be quite dense and looks red, which means it is ripe and ready to be harvested.
Rambutan is a tropical plant originating from Southeast Asia such as Africa, Cambodia, Caribbean, Central America, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Sri Lanka. The word "rambutan" comes from the shape of the fruit that has skin like hair.

In Indonesia there are several types of rambutan with superior varieties such as:
- 'Rapiah' from Pasar Minggu.
- 'Bahrang' from Langkat.
- 'Lebak bulus' from Pasar Minggu.
- 'Sibatuk Ganal' from Sungai Andai, South Kalimantan.
- 'Miss' from Kampar, Riau.
- 'Binjai' from 'Pasar Minggu'.
- 'Antalagi' from Sungai Andai, South Kalimantan.
- 'Sibongkok' from Luhut River, South Kalimantan.
- 'Garuda' from Sungai Andai, South Kalimantan.
10.'Tangkue Lebak 'from Maja Sub-district, Banten.
11.'Narmada 'from NTB.

Berikut adalah beberapa photo dari buah rambutan yang tumbuh di depan rumah saya.
Orang dikampung saya menamai "rambutan nyonya" dan usia dari pohon rambutan ini sudah sangat tua.
Pada musim ini kebetulan berbuah cukup lebat dan tampak sudah merah yang artinya sudah matang dan siap dipanen.
Rambutan adalah Tanaman tropis yang berasal dari Asia Tenggara seperti Afrika, Kamboja, Karibia , Amerika Tengah, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Thailand dan Sri Lanka. Kata "rambutan" berasal dari bentuk buahnya yang mempunyai kulit seperti rambut.
