Tarot Tuesday Twosome #9
My Tarot Tuesday Twosome takes two cards and explains what they suggest about the present and immediate future. Two cards can show point / counter-point situations. They can show a situation and further details to consider. They can indicate the present situation ... and the near future or the next step in the progression.
They give literally twice as much information as the familiar One-Card Reading, and I have found them to be surprisingly prescient in my practice with them. So, I decided to bring them here to my Steemit blog -- to show you what I mean and invite you to consider their weekly message / prediction ... and step into a more conscious life.
The Lovers = choices, options, balancing two or more things, combining two or more things to make something different -- something greater than the sum of its parts
Celtic Owl = patience, inertia, stasis, suspension, delaying a decision, not making a choice, weighing opinions, achieving a different perspective, seeing life from a different vantage point
Note: These two cards represent two cards from a section in the Tarot known as the Major Arcana. This section is not included in the mainstream deck of playing cards (clubs, hearts, diamonds, spades, etc.) used in games today. There are twenty-two cards in the Major Arcana. Each represents a superior energy or archetype that points to a life theme, a life lesson, a turning point -- maybe,an out-of-the-ordinary encounter or experience with something "greater than yourself."
There is a Major Arcana card that provides the theme of the reading in the Spiritual Sunday posts I've begun. It is deliberately included (you might say artificially chosen), but when a Major Arcana card shows up in a "normal" reading, it give the reading and its meaning a sense of stature and significance. It essentially says, "Something larger than life ... something exceptional ... is going on here. Pay attention. This story, this experience, contains a life theme you might want to notice or learn more about."
The fact that we have two of them here, suggests these events -- this advice -- has unusual weight. Again there's this underlying sensation of a turning point, a fork in the road coming up -- soon. The sequence over the past several weeks suggests all this is ... leading up to something fairly momentous.

What are these cards saying?
For now, however, there is no movement in this reading at all. It is extremely static. It describes virtually a condition of being in limbo. You may be riffling through a lot of options, but making a move on none of them -- yet. You may be waiting to see what else develops -- or what else shows up. You may be waiting for something else to happen before making any decisions. If so, that's ok. The whole atmosphere here is ... waiting. (Watching. Thinking. Maintaining the status quo.)

As a one-two sequence,

You have a lot of possibilities to choose from, none of them really compelling. Lots of thoughts -- no decisions. Fertile surroundings -- no motivation. Life on hold. Lots of stuff hanging fire.

The Lovers card is associated with Gemini - which can dabble in trivia, get lost in the forest of "too much information," be too restless to settle down and do anything productive. But it is also the most mentally active, intellectually mobile of the signs. Its mind is its own greatest source of entertainment -- and inspiration. For now you may content to play mind games -- waiting for something / whatever to finally light a fire under you. This "dabbling" may be fun and creative, but ATM not much is coming together.
The Hanged Man -- which is what this card is in the traditional Tarot is a very visually disturbing image. It suggests someone in a serious predicament, someone trapped, maybe even someone being tortured or executed. (There appears to be no way he can get himself out of this fix. All he can do is wait -- and pray for rescue, maybe.) It's associated with Neptune, one of the most confusing energies we've defined.
The Hanged Man suggests everything from being lost in a dream, caught in your own fantasies, "overthinking" your situation, etc., to feeling trapped, hopeless, caught in a mess with no exit, seeing no way out of a very troubling dilemma, being stunned and exhausted, unable to think, being paralyzed by despair, worry or indecision.
One card suggests limitless options. The other suggests no practical options, no workable options, no options you can really act on, no options that fix the problem. You may be playing a lot of "What if ...?" with yourself. Or you may feel caught up in "circumstances beyond your control." Or you may be asking yourself, "Now what ...?" -- and still awaiting an answer.
Patience is seriously the key to this puzzle -- which may not be what you want to hear. But this whole combination says, "Don't push the river." Life is arranging itself ... differently. In time, you will see it ... differently. Meanwhile, stay calm. Bide your time. Don't struggle. ("Resistance is futile.") And wait for the answer to reveal itself to you. Because it will.
We know one thing for sure about stasis -- and we know the same thing about chaos, even though they are different ends of the spectrum. Neither one of them lasts.
