Venus in Cancer has formed the
opposition with Saturn in Capricorn.

and what are they doing?

Venus in Cancer = concerned with the enjoyment, love, comfort, care and support of yourself, your home and your family

Saturn in Capricorn = being highly disciplined, organized, ambitious and concerned with meeting your professional responsibilities, following the rules at work and in society, maintaining the chain of command, and supporting the status quo

Oppositions = often show up as problems in relationships or through traits and energy we project onto someone else, indicates the need to rebalance situations that have become lop-sided, also indicates the need to reown stuff (ideas, habits, characteristics, impulses, etc.) you have repressed until they are now part of your Shadow.

What's happening?

Venus opposing Saturn accompanies a time when the love, validation and support you need is in real short supply, for one reason or another. It can leave you feeling overlooked, unappreciated ... even invisible. Offering love out to those around you ... the people who are supposed to care ... hoping for some recognition ... basically asking for what you want outright ... may not get you much response or satisfaction. That makes this time doubly difficult. It feels like the well has gone dry everywhere you look.

There can be obvious and understandable reasons for this. Partners you love and depend on may be deeply involved in meeting responsibilities elsewhere ... and since there are only so many hours in the day, for now, you're way down on the priority list.

Logically, you can see why this is happening. You may even agree with it. But that doesn't make it any easier for the Inner Self who wants some intimacy and comfort -- especially now.

Venus in Cancer is notably caring (and needy! Let's be honest.) It's tough for her to just put a lid on her feelings without problems erupting elsewhere. Right now nobody needs that -- especially you.

Since all energy runs on a two-way street, you may be the one with commitments that cut down on family time and closeness. Saturn in Capricorn is pretty merciless and rigid when it comes to what you owe me, and right now his interests are directly opposed to things in your family and private life. He insists there are things that have to be done ... and when push comes to shove, he's not going to be the one to give ground on anything.

To add to the misery, this is often a time when money issues are worrisome. Unexpected expenses and interruptions in your sources of supply can all collide to create their own further crisis. This means if there were ways money could soothe or solve the loneliness issue, you can't even turn to that for comfort now. In fact, all this focus on money just heightens the problem.

When you dig deeper, you find all this ,points to problems with self-esteem. We tend to count our worth (logically or not) by two standards -- the love and attention we get from the people around us ... and the bottom line in our bank account and our assembled possessions.

When these life areas are in trouble we can really question our value -- even with all the platitudes we tell ourselves to counteract the judgmental messages Saturn in Capricorn is all too happy to deliver -- often.

In fact, this is part of what's going on. We need to stop and reflect on our value apart from what others supply and what we can count in cash at the end of the day.

It's a time when your belief in yourself really will help you through this temporary storm. It's also a time when you can't just buy your way out of the experience. Sometimes people turn to that, you know. Shopping is also a source of addiction.

Consciously or otherwise, this is also a time when you and your partners are quietly, privately re-evaluating the quality of your relationship. You may see the problems much more quickly than the benefits.

So it can be a time when relationships shatter -- or at least set off serious adjustments. You -- or your partners / family members / friends, etc., may be unavailable and distant, not because you're legitimately busy, but because you're questioning whether you really want to be involved at all any more ... and if so, to what extent.

The extra attention to $$$ may show you that you need different ways to support yourself -- because the present ones aren't working ... or aren't reliable ... or are simply too flimsy to count on. And ironically, your desire for a more affluent life is not a message from the Universe that you need to learn to live on less.

It's a message that you want more and deserve better. All this scrimping and saving does not honor you. Find better sources of abundance and claim them. Srsly.

Despite the discomfort of this time, it doesn't last forever -- a week or two maybe, although it can sure seem a lot longer. The Leo trines to Jupiter in Sagittarius are coming up -- so this one may resolve itself fairly soon ... and easily. You'll soon find some options to explore that look very promising.

And this is the last of the Cancer oppositions we have to cope with this year. One reason it's so hurtful (because we do get this every year ... so we live through it regularly) is because we've been clobbered by so many recently. We're kind of worn out and punchy.

The good news about this though is when the tide turns -- which it's fixing to ... life improves rapidly. The experiences of August and September will reshape this landscape -- and your attitude -- and your prospects. And it's high time, isn't it!!

What to expect?

• A lack of closeness, intimacy, love, support, comfort, etc.
• Feeling blocked, invisible, hindered, even exploited
• Questioning your connections, values, support sources, relationships
• Validating your worth from within rather than from outside sources
• Assessing the ratio between what you give and what you get back
• Adjusting your needs and expectations (in both directions)

Although this is a time of adjustments and compromise ... and considering what you want in the future based on what you discover, it's a time to cut back on what you require ... or on what you require from current sources and come up with a clear idea of what you don't have that you want and need and how to get those from other sources.

You don't have to be confined to what you've already got. But it does mean you'll need to reach out (if you want something more / something better / something different) ... and do something different to get it.

What happens next?

Venus' next aspect is a trine to Neptune in Pisces ... which boosts your magination, intuition and creativity. (This can certainly offer some help in solving the problems I've described here. I meant it when I said help is on the way. Life ... is like that.)
