I'm Ryan from Austin, Texas. I'm already really excited about Steemit because it's clear that this is a welcoming, worldwide collection of people. I love the idea of meeting people from different countries and backgrounds to help prove how similar we all are; regardless of race, nationality or religion.

A little about myself:
I'm a new dad, with a two month old daughter. For work, I love building products -- primarily for mobile devices. I'm fairly new to cryptocurrency, but learning more every day. I also know that most people hate reading really long blocks of text, so I'll keep it short and sweet!

Just kidding!! I do love steemit, a lot, and I am from Austin, but my name isn't Ryan. I am also a father but but my boys are a little older than the cutie in the picture.. I love meeting new people of mixed races and steemit is a great place to start! BUT!! There are SO MANY SCAMMERS! So many people using fake pics they got off of the internet just to try to fish a little steem out of the reward pool. And not only that! They will scam you for just about anything if you give them a chance, always make sure that you know who you are dealing with beforehand. Never trust anything see on the interwebs, without researching first. Even then, don't believe everything you read just because it's a so-called "reliable source"

There are scammers and trolls EVERYHERE! BE CAREFUL!!! HIDE YO KIDS, HIDE YO WIFE, STEEMIT SCAMMERS ARE OUT EVERY NIGHT!! If you look hard enough, you might even find your OWN PHOTOS being used by scammers! It happens a lot more often than most people think.

What can an identity thief do with your personal information?

They can and will use your name and information to:

Number one worst is they will PRETEND TO BE YOU, WHEN THEY ARE ARRESTED!!
thieves can easily get new credit cards
then buy things with your credit cards
get a new iPhone, pay their electricity, or gas account
they might even STEAL YOUR TAX REFUND!!
And last but not least, someone who has stolen your identity can get medical care, leaving you to foot the bill.
