...continued...

When we understand that what we are toying with, another would gladly and graciously desire to swap place with us, maybe we can view things with a better perspective.

Everything we have enjoyed or even laboured for, we should know that we need to place the right value on it so we can sustain it. If you trivialize it, it might be taken from you and as usual, we humans appreciate things best in the hindsight.

“You don’t understand what you have until you lose it, to which I would respond and say, “We understand it, we just never thought we would lose it, hence we failed to place appropriate value on it.”

This thought came to my mind when I saw Croatia in the finals. No one gave them a chance. No one thought they would go this far. Oh sorry, I mean I didn’t think they would go this far and not many people thought they would too. Now as they play their final tomorrow with France, one man comes to mind: Kalinic.

Kalinic was the player who was asked to come in for 5 minutes in Croatia’s match against Nigeria. He refused to come on, maybe he felt he deserved better minutes than he was given and the thought of value came to my mind. How would he mess this up? Why would he mess this up?

A lot of countries dream of qualifying for this World Cup for crying out loud! A lot of players wish they could participate in this World Cup. He is also 30 years old which might be his last World Cup too. It is disheartening to see that he didn’t place appropriate value on this great opportunity he had. A lot of players would even wish to play for fewer minutes. I am sure Icardi wouldn’t mind doing that for Argentina. He got a rare privilege and he blew it.

Maybe he would have popped up with some vital goals for Croatia, maybe they wouldn’t have gotten this far, we still cannot know...he didn’t give us the chance to find out.

He cited a backache as the reason but we all know the real truth. Okay, the backache could be the reason, but a lot of players would gladly play through pain just to have that 5 minutes on a grand stage. He gave everything to be there, and he couldn’t withstand 5 minutes of pain?

I have seen players play for longer hours with more aggravating pains. It is all about value. It is all about determination. It is all about how much it means to him. Sadly, it didn’t mean too much to him, and he forgot that some players were dropped just for him to have a place in the World Cup squad. He forgot!

He was advised to apologize and move on, something he failed to do as well. He totally failed to do this due to ego? This is why it is hard to accept his backache was the real cause. Tevez did the same for Argentina in a Champions’ League match when Roberto Mancini was in charge. He was punished and later apologized at least for the sake of peace. Kalinic could have done the same if his World Cup spot mean anything to him.

Placing value on things make us see things clearly, let go of our ego and learn to imbibe the spirit of peace.

Thank you for your time.

It's exciting to be excited because so many good teams have already gone out and this team has gone so far in the final. It has surprised everyone, it has to be a good team. They have to say that the team is very good. Their team combinations are very good. Their defense was like a great Argentine team. Eliminated Brazil's team like Neymar, dropped out, more good teams were dropped, it is very bad It's natural bay.I support Argentine supporters from my childhood for the time being, I think that he will not yet wait for the national team. He still has his performances very good so that the team feels very important, and now the Argentine team will give it a very bad time and Try them better defence.

On a second thought sir this Value placing attitude perspective of a mans food, another's poison reminds me of the Parable of the lazy servant. Matt 25:15;24.
the chance that was a poison to kalinic was food to pjaca
i can only imagine Croatia lifting the trophy tomorrow.more often than not ego blinds our immediate eyes against the future of not just to our poor lives but to the feeling, reaction from our friends, family and even church as well as immediate community etc.
Well i rap up with this; Experience is only the best teacher to those who come out of it
Thanks as ever @olawalium.

Still Elisedaniels...Love for the Gospel.

Exactly. Many people would love to have just that 5 minutes Kalinic rejected. Others would gladly love to play through pain just to contribute their part but because he didn't place the right value on his place and role, he lost it which is perfectly likened to the parable of the three servants you mentioned earlier.

Putting a clear value on the opportunity in front of us let use seen it the way it supposed to be.

I'm happy you brought this up, kalinic really fucked up. In fact he messed up. If it is African player that do this, then I can say it his because of the value will place on our country. It's Africa especially Nigeria that they will call on player and he will reject the opportunity to represent his country.

I always seen players from Europe grabbing the opportunity to represent their country. But kalinic decision really surprised me.

He didn't place value on his team and may be he never believe they can come this far. Now he will be regretting and if Croatia wins the world Cup. He wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

Thanks for sharing @communitycoin and @olawalium

He must really be kicking himself right now. Even if they fail to win it, these set of Croatian players would forever remain a hero in their homeland and i can't say the same for Kalinic right now. He didn't appreciate the rare opportunity he had in being called for a World Cup; a 30 year old which might actually be his last World Cup, and he blew it, regardless of what his excuse might be. Really sad.

Hahahahaha it's his last World Cup, that one is for sure. Because by the time the next world Cup arrive, he would be 34 years. Then who will take a 34 years old player to World Cup competition. Even if they wants to take him along, he already has a bad reputation in his homeland.

If he didn't damage his reputation, they would have taken him, at least for compensation and also for loyalty sake. I was shocked when Croatia took Corluka to World Cup. That dude should be around 36-38 by now.

Yes, you are very right. But he as misused the opportunity been given to him. That's so bad of of him.

He has lost it...and it is very terrible...

Hahahahahaha terrible indeed, lesson learned.

Got motivated toady from this post as usual but what I'm feeling now is on lighter note compared to some hours ago, it means I could deduce that this is a post that reduced a lot from my burden. Yes, For Kalinic, I guess he wasn't able to place a right value to his goal in the World Cup display, because I couldn't imagine a player that did all what he could to be in the World Cup list and now in reality of life refused to be calm in just some minutes so it means something is pushing him to doing this and this is nothing just for his ego.

Now to my burden that I was referring to in the first place.

Got motivated toady from this post as usual but what I'm feeling now is on lighter note compared to some hours ago.

I woke up yesterday's evening to go on with my routine on steemit then found four of my post on a downvote spot, then was like I'm crazy or something 😂 I was like I won't continue with steemit again. I won't lie here but I got the power up here to push further so what you are used to it will definitely be a hard thing to overlook the process, I was about to do that yesterday, but coming this morning to this blog again to read as usual made me to believe that what worth doing,is worth doing well. Thanks for sharing this. I'm changing my motive, reorganizing and making it straight I won't end up like the man "Kalinic" he had thought the team won't go far I guess.

I am glad you found the needed motivation to move on. I think the downvoting is annoying because they are new accounts going round and doing this nonsense. Don't lose heart on this and everything that will turn out great will never be without hindrance like this. Rise above it and i am glad you have.

Yes, don't be a Kalinic. Most people want to be where you are right now. Don't lose the value based on these temporary bumps. It will pass.

Thanks a lot brother.

I'm greatly fed bro thanks once more.

All thanks to God...thanks a lot too.

Well said :) I wasn't expecting this to turn into a soccer piece, but it worked well
