School Lockdowns
A school lockdown is a procedure whereby students, staff and authorized visitors gather in classrooms or other secure areas for safety.
Know the codes and signals of the workplace. Keep the information confidential so it does not get into the wrong hands.
Don’t Panic!!! You have to keep you and everyone around you calm so they can be confident you know what to do during a lockdown procedure.
- Hallways have to be clear, direct everyone to the nearest secure space right away. If you are in a compromised area and cannot get to a secure space; hide.
- lock all windows and doors, turn off lights, hide. There should be no signs of activities or people in rooms etc…
- All phones should be silenced, do not go near or be visible by the door. If in contact with law enforcement keep your hands in the air, palms facing the law enforcement and fingers spaced apart.
doors or windows should only be opened under the direction of law enforcement or according to a prearranged code or signal.
Perform lockdown drills so that everyone becomes familiar with them by heart. The staff that work for the company should understand and know the lockdown procedures.

Hopefully all the schools worldwide is teaching this to the students and staff, I remember when I was going to school, we was taught the fire drill, duck, tuck and roll, we never thought this would be heard of, shootings in schools.
