HTML Quotation and Citation Elements at w3schools
I was back at it with my HTML lessons and today I looked at HTML Quotation and Citation Elements. Both of these tags work on Steemit and are quite simple to use if you understand how to open and close a tag.
When you want to use quotations in your “writing”, you usually just add them like I did around writing. This time when I used the quotation mark around writing
Source Code
The HTML < blockquote > element defines a section that is quoted from another source. Browsers usually indent < blockquote > elements.
I use the blockquote tag a lot because I get ideas and information from other reliable sources. That is a way to recognize that the information is not directly from the author. The indent and look of the work quoted from another source has a nice look on Steemit! I try to incorporate it in all my posts with links back to other people work.
You cannot use abbreviation when writing on Steemit. For example, The < a b b r title="National Rifle Association ">NRA< /a b b r > was founded in 1871. Now, technically if you hoover your mouse over < abbr title="National Rifle Association ">NRA< /abbr > it should show you the whole word.
Marking abbreviations can give useful information to browsers, translation systems and search-engines.
The address, cite and bdo tag were useful to learn about because if I work on a website I may need them at that point. I do not believe they are recognized on Steemit.
