Make your website’s niche-topic work effectively!

in #blog6 years ago (edited)

And how to keep your blogs coming, on a continuous on-going basis, time after time, endlessly!

For starters:

Choose the right niche for your basic theme topic:

  1. Choose a topic that has a broad base. That is, have a lot of things to talk about.
  2. Is it something you know lots and lots about?
  3. Do you have any personal experience in that department?
  4. Is it something you have a great passion about and for?
  5. How many people out there on the internet would want to hear about it?

Spreading the load:

Could you break up your theme topic and divide it up into diverse and several categories? That is, find other sub-subjects, within that main theme.

  1. If you had to sit down right now, and check out how many subjects you could divide it into?
  2. And considering each category, how many times can you divide it up also, into more sub-subjects under each of those categories?
  3. Breaking it up into manageable bite-size-pieces, making sure each piece has something with a sensational `bite’ in it or to it.
  4. List them so you can visualize them. And later come back to them, as you need them.
  5. Making each one, into one basic topic, per blog. And covering about one page or one and a bit.

One way of splitting up topics:

Is to ask yourself,

  • “How many different ways can I say or do this thing?”
  • “How many different reasons why people have trouble with this topic?”
  • “How many different mistakes do people make with this?”

Then use each situation in one blog at a time.

Remember blogs aren’t feasible or workable, if they aren’t…

Desirable and easy to read:

How exciting would each of those categories and blog posts be? How can I make them fantastic?

Would they be desirable by the masses of people out there on the internet? That visitors and readers would be excited to come back for more, again and again?

What are the masses out there, really struggling with? That you could provide them with answers or give helpful advice on?

If you already have a theme topic:

How is it doing?

  • Are you beginning to find it hard to think up new things to write about?
  • Could you continue with that over a long time, day after day, month after month, year after year, and still find something new to write about
  • Have you considered having another look at it? Considering and using the above questions and suggestions? Change things or add something more?

Strategize:

  • Structure your itinerary into a futuristic schedule that you can cope with.
  • Know which days you will handle each particular category.
  • Build a week by week list of your blogs, as a schedule, prepared ahead of time.
  • On social networks: Give each of your category topics an icon image that people will recognize instantly. This helps them follow that topic on an-on-going basis.

This is just the response every user that's struggling with keeping up the consistence needs. You've broken it down for us all to understand it easily.
Writing good content is where we realise the high rewards and for those that have been long enough on steemit know what this means; you struggle and get loyal followers who upvote and comment on your posts but they stop following your blog when the posts start lacking content. This I've realised is mostly because the content gets exhausted. If we adopt this system of writing where we break what we write into bits with each having something that pulls users' attention and having a bite in it for them, we shall have overcome these struggles. For we shall indeed always be having what to write to keep activity on our blogs. Thanks for sharing this @artguru. There is a lot I've picked from it.

If you're not organized you start to panic when you run out of ideas to blog about. Then it becomes a chore to keep your website going. Not fun anymore.
You must feel like you have inspirational power behind you, to keep going with your blogging.

Your strategies are pretty much all i need, easy and practical.
I can write a series of continuous blogs over a long time. In most cases we tend yo summarize our blogs where by we don't communicate enough and tommorow we switch to another topic.
So I can go about it by explaining enough detailed in my posts so that my readers understand and can read my next series of blogs tommorow.
Thanks @artguru for this one. Sticking to what works.

On steemit, I try to keep Wednesdays for my travel blogs. But on Mondays and Fridays, the blogs don't generally follow a topic pattern. I keep a scheduled list of up and coming blogs I have in the pipeline. But if there are any changes, it depends on the demand and needs of those following me and their comments.

I'm working on my blogging skills right now.
These are all valuable tips. I'm also reading books to help with my writing.
I've had issues to find topics I can write about.
Reading helps you in that case as well. You can find a lot of different topics also in the books you read.

When I first started my WordPress website I too did a lot of reading up on how to set up and write blogs. Since then I haven't stopped taking notes on what is working or not working with blogging. It's been observant and considering what you like or don't like about other people's websites too.
So along the way I learnt even from my own mistakes!

well well @artguru you are great teacher and i am your student your post about making blog great and good for reading is awesome and the result is obvious and your daily hard work to post daily something regarding blog writing is really deligatble and yeah the things you mentioned is true because i myself saw those thing in good blog!

Thats wonderful and inspiring tips. I'll keep in front while blogging. Yes its necessary that it should be interesting and lot of discussion could be possible on the topic and it should be broad base. Informative post

Thank-u @artguru for sharing such useful tips.
Would you please put some light specially on, How we can make a post more exciting and interesting.

I have covered quite a bit on that in my previous blogging tip posts. If you go back and check on my site: @artguru and pick out all the same icon image as above in this blog, you'll find more blogging tips.
In future I'll do some more interesting stuff on that topic.

I give similar advise to people. Having done abit in digital marketing i tend to explain to them the techniques involved in getting traffic on your blog. Aisde from getting your information across or selling your products you can still make some money with google Adsense. So its a win win

You have clearly guided a lot of people with this post. Myself most especially.

New users get it wrong at the early stages because they do not rally have knowledge on how to go about blogging. Some find it hard to keep up as they are getting closer to frustration daily.

If they knew what to do and how to do it, it would not be so hard keeping up. Your post is educative enoug to keep users on the right path. So many users want to be all things to everybody. It basically doesn’t work that way. You’ve got to pick a niche to follow and be well knowledgeable about.

Also, making their blog attractive and quality is very essential. If you have a great content to share you have to be able to convey the message in the most appropriate order to capture the attention of the reader.

I’ll also like to add that the title of your blogposts go a long way in giving the post visibility.

Thank you once again @artguru for this educative post.
