My Information Finding Championship - Season 1 : Round 14 logo entry

Finally got to finish this logo for Information Finding Championship (IFC)... Whew. Did a lot of revisions on it but here's the final look!

The Process

First I started sketching it the previous night.

I shot a vid of me drawing it but I don't wanna upload that random sketching on YouTube so just click the link here in case you wanna see the short sketching I did.

So I sketched that but then because it's a logo, you can't do hand drawn shaky stuff and make logos so I decided to finally bring out my ruler and do some pencil guides. Yeah we really need to use some guides when doing logos. 😂

It should look better with straight lines. Haha.

At first I actually colored it in with some pens and put some crystals in the middle...

But then when I was looking at it, it seems the previous version is better so I went and digitized that one in Adobe Illustrator. I traced the picture and did only half of it even if I already mirrored the half of the image thru Photoshop.

And then I copied the entire finished half and flipped it over.

I started putting colors but am not sure which color is better... Hmmm. What do you think?

Because I couldn't decide I just went with blue and green. Blue because that's the previous Steemit logo color, and green for the Steemit color now, only I think it's more of the aliens giving us the money thru the castle? Wait, what? Hahahaaaa...

How the logo design came about

As per logo contest rules and details, they wanted a crystal castle with something about information, so I put the crystal into an open book shape crystals at the bottom of where the castle is coming out plus some UFO at the top.

Also I remembered and got inspired by Cephiro's castle too from Magic Knight Rayearth because you know, I just watched the whole two seasons of the anime a week or so ago. Lucky me eh? Here let me show you how it looks like.

If you've been following me since 13 days ago, you'd know what I'm talking about. If not, well I drew Nova because I watched the show and finally got to finish it then.

The crystal castle logo I made doesn't exactly look like this at all but it is inspired by it. I sketched mine from memory so I didn't really have a reference on crystal shapes. Lol.

All of the above is how I came up with this logo design.

My final IFC logo version is at the top (1st pic) and this one below is the on black version.
