Hello All, I would like to introduce myself
Hi Steemit Ccmmunity!
Staring at a blank page and trying to come up with something is always a daunting challenge, but I'll give it my best shot since I'm talking about a subject near and dear to my heart..... me. I'm just joking of course, I'm way more humble than that - the best at humility you'll ever meet probably.
I'm hoping to set a tone early that I don't take anything particularly seriously. Except food. Get in between me and food and we're having a problem.
So about me, my name is Kai - I work in IT as a team leader, but that is extraordinarily boring so I wont mention it again.
I'm a 37 year old Australian man in what feels like the body of a 67 year old Australian man. A life time of not cooling down properly at the gym (probably, I mean who has time for that?) has left me with a bunch of fun injuries that have me making worrying sound effects every time I stand up, sit down, or look 5 degrees in either direction. Getting out of bed requires planning and mathematical calculations. Every time I drop something on the ground - I need to make a decision about whether I want that thing back or if I'm waving goodbye to it from up here where it's safe.
Unrelated: I really love training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Boxing.
I started out in Muay Thai, and spent a number of years involved with that. However due to back injuries moved to Boxing. I spent several years boxing and developed a great love for it. Unfortunately due to some shoulder problems I've had quite some time off of that. I have surgery scheduled for August which I'm hoping will get me back on track. I'm a bit too old these days but if I can get my shoulder fixed up, I would like to compete in the masters when I turn 40 (eek).
A couple pics of me and the guys at my old MT gym
I have however spent the last few years in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and really love that. I'm still a white belt, currently on my third stripe. I should probably be further along by now, but my excuse is that I've had a few injuries along the way (torn groin, the shoulders, had to have some minor surgery for a skin thing, etc) which has put the brakes on me a few times. I'm back at it for now, and really enjoying it. I'd love to get my Blue Belt soon - and I am working very hard towards that while I can. As I mentioned i have shoulder surgery lined up soon, and that will more than likely take me off the mats for at least a few months. Sad face.

Outside of that, I'm a total car nut.
I currently drive an E46 BMW M3, which is my weekend / track car.
I won't get too into detail about what I've done to it or anything, because I fully understand how boring that is to non car-people. If anyone wants to know, i'll be more than happy to talk your ear off. You asked for it after all.
Previous to this, I had a pretty sweet Evo 9
and an S14a Silvia before that
Saving the best for last, I have two young boys that I adore. These guys are my world and they keep me on my toes every second of the day. They are 4 years old and 2 years old. I won't post pictures because my wife would probably kill me for sharing pictures of our kids in a strange forum that I literally just joined. I wouldn't blame her.
Being a parent is very difficult, anyone who acts like it is all rainbows and hugs is a smelly liar. It is very hard work but also very rewarding. I wouldn't swap it for anything. :)
Anyway, that's me. Sorry for making you look at a sweaty half naked photo of me (no i'm not) but it's 2017. #freethenipple and all that. I look forward to experiencing this community, and I promise I'm not half as much of an idiot as this post makes me out to be. More like a third.
