Day 3 - Kölnbrein Dam - The highest Dam in Austria

3rd day of our trip before we leave Vienna, we really want to see Belvedere. We packed everything to the car and go one more time to the city center to see that outstanding baroque building. I think you will agree with us that it was worth getting up earlier to see this pearl of architecture.

After short walk we started our trip to Malta, where is localized a campsite (Terrassencamping Maltatal). The campsite has fantastic localization and the quality of the place is on very high level. By the way it is a very good place to spend time with children ;)

On the road we saw interesting old building on the viaduct :)

However, bevore we camped, we travel to Kolnbrein Dam, which is the tallest Dam in Austria. Around 20 km before you reach the dam, the gate appears on your road and you have to pay 20 euro if you want to drive further. Definitely it is worth the price.

After you pay it. You have to overcome a steep but beautiful road hollowed out in the rocks. You may feel like you are traveling to dwarves' village in Lord of The Rings :)

Finally we reached the summit by our car and we could see this miracle of civil engineering and nature in one.

We were alone on the Dam so this experience was even more exciting ;)
