My ACRO YOGA class! I guess I found my new hobby! ( What is ACRO YOGA? )

This Sunday I went to acro yoga class with my friends. It was our 2nd time ever to participate in this beautiful poetry of human interaction and mental balance. I will admit, I thought it will be easier but at the end what matters is that we all had fun and we connected with each other on whole different level that we're used to in our ordinary life.

So let me tell you a little bit more about ACRO YOGA

Acro Yoga is good for you in numerous ways

I think one of the most important things in Acro Yoga is a human connection. Feeling as one with your partner can benefit the growth of your emotional intelligence. It will help you find the courage to pass those boundaries that are imposed on us. And last but not least, I think it will reveal you to yourself helping you to understand others much more clearly.

Acro yoga can teach you to react and think faster because every wrong move can shift you off the balance. It teaches us Proprioception, or the ability to move your body through space. It takes real practice to feel yourself and know where is your point of balance and what are your boundaries.

One thing that stuck with me is the trust in Acro Yoga. Some poses are very dangerous and you really need to have faith in your partner. I think for the beginners, such as me, it is a significant step to make. But, when you do that step you feel funny why you even questioned your partner. The feeling when you can trust a person and you can see it right away is priceless.

Acro yoga is for everybody! Yes, I mean it. With proper technique, it somehow feels that Acro Yoga defies gravity. You can be big or small, it doesn't matter. Wherever is balance involved you can do wonders with yours and your partner's body. You just need to put much work and belief to see it work. As Archimedes said: ''Give me a place to put a lever, and I shall move the world''. If you can feel your self and your partner, nothing can stop you!

How did I end up here?

One guy, from my city, wanted to make the ideas come true! So he came up with his own idea and created FB page ''Killing Boredom'', and now anyone with some good idea can contact him and make his wish come true! There are various classes every week including dancing, face painting, capoeira, making dreamcatchers, acro yoga and many more. I think Acro Yoga class will be held every month at least once so I'm kinda impatient already :D.

Anyway, I had a good time this Sunday. I met few new people and connected with my friends more. And now, I can't wait for the next class. In the meantime, I'll probably go bouldering... I need to keep on moving ;) Thanks for reading!

This reminds me of high school acrobat. I dabbled in it for a bit but couldn't sustain it because of conflict of schedules. Our school even came up with a team that goes around town showing their skills. From what I see in the photos above, the acrobat team have done it and I was jealous because I should have done it with them, too! Thinking of doing it now would be out of the question lol! I wouldn't want to try it. It needs a lot of convincing for me to try acro yoga. Seems like you had fun though. Cheers!

Haha don't hesitate and try it. Don't worry anyone can do it with a little bit of practice :)

This looks really cool! I loved the poses towards the bottom with a few people involved. It also looked like you were doing great too mate.

I like the connection between people with this. I imagine there is a lot of laughs and an equal amount of calm and collected. Very interesting practise and some great points made about it in your post.

Thanks man! Yeah, you need to feel yourself first to feel others, that way you can somehow control the harmony between you and your partner... Anyway, I had real good fun there!

wow! What a huge class! OMG! Looks like so much fun. I wish I could have been there.

Yeah, can you imagine? :D This is the biggest class of all of them... It was really fun hahaha at the beginning I was kinda good, but I got tired quickly and that's where all the problems started :D :D

The good thing is that we're gonna have every month one class so hopefully, I will be doing this much often :D

I really loved it... I love any activity that connects your body and mind... Acro Yoga can even help me with my Jiu-Jitsu... So I kinda benefit from more than one thing here :D

Ooooh that looks like a ton of fun! If only I wasn't afraid of heights, I'd definitely give it a try too. I'll stick to my plain yoga mat for now, I think...

With a bit of practice, you could gain trust in your partner, and you really could do it.. Give it a try, it will reveal you to yourself :))

Since you are this good after only 2 classes I can not imagine how brilliant you will be after 10 or 20. Wow.

Haha yeah me and my friends were funny looking out there :D But, if we didn't try it we wouldn't make it! Or something like that xD

I love balance and always looking for the opportunity to practice it to get better at this skill... I hope to try Acro Yoga at least one time monthly from now on... Time will tell..

This is really dangerous, I can only do this with siblings or friends not with any stranger i just met.

It's a bit dangerous but all we need is practice and a bit of trust :) But if you're new to this just try simple poses, they are more safer and they can be done.. :)
