Put a Steemian in the spotlight: @bigdude
One thing we sometimes tend to forget is to respect our other fine Steemians around us and what they are doing.
More Steemians deserve recognition because they really are doing stuff to change the world. My friend @bigdude from Venezuela is one of these persons. Apart from being a newly father he also lives in a country with multiple challenges.
Hyper inflation
As you may or may not know Venezuela is a difficult situation at the moment. Politics are not doing what they supposed to do and this is leading the country to hyper inflation.
@bigdude wrote some clear series about this inflation situation and describing in his post about this how a cabbage currently costs $0.64 while the minimum wage for a MONTHLY salary is $1.24. You are seeing the issue here right? People dont have enough money for basic necessities and what is why he is stepping up to divide the wealth better.
Shoes
One of the things that @bigdude is doing at the moment is having a project on buying kids new shoes. As you understand, these are the kinds of things that will end up last in the priority list of Venezuelans, but the childrens feet also have to last a whole life time. He is buying these kids shoes which are payed for by SBD and Steem generated by his posts. Talk about making a difference right?
Hospital Bills
Another thing @bigdude is working on is trying to help this man pay his hospital bills. He had to undergo emergency surgery and even though though bills may sound cheap for Western standards, in Venezuela the $200 for the surgery and $129 for the aftercare medication are a burden that will leave somebody in dept for the rest of his life.
Again, you understand what kind of life changing action @bigdude is trying to take here.
More and more and more
He has done so much with SBD before already and that proves he really deserves some attention from our community. Because we are not alone in this world guys. And not everything is about crypto and making winnings
It is about getting schoolsupplies for schools and getting food for in the dining room of the poor and homeless.
That is what I call life changing experiences due to the efforts of our Steemians! And that is fantastic!
There are a lot more Steemians who are also really making an effort to help for instance @sircork from the @youarehope foundation and @pennsif with the @adollaraday project. Other Steemians like @malos10 and @blackliberal keep an open view to whats going on in Venezuela. Check out these peoples pages guys, they are awesome!
In the light of putting a Steemian in the spotlight I will naturally send all liquid SBD and Steem generated by this post to @bigdude so he can continue doing his good work!
