It was on a camping trip several years ago that I was first introduced to the idea of Virtual Reality(VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) being integrated with GPS. I work in education, so I was familiar with AR tools for learning (like exploring the periodic table, etc.).

It had never really occurred to me to blend the three things into a video game. Ingress ended up being much more than a video game, it was a way to get out and explore/interact with your surroundings.

What I find most exciting about this is the fact that since it is built on blockchain, there is the potential for countless dapps to interact with the XR network. In fact, Gofind has an XR SDK that will allow any developer to build XR dapps.

Besides gaming, there are plenty of other use cases for XR Web including real estate, advertising, social media, the sky is the limit!

The basis for XR Web is the XR token. Check this video out for an in depth explanation of how you use the tokens. The brief overview is that you stake your tokens to purchase digital real estate. This can be in anywhere in the world. My guess is that you want to pick areas that will get a log of traffic though. In this way when users run XR dapps in areas you own, you will receive rewards.

XR Web is built on the Etherum blockchain and the XR token is an ERC-20 token. Even though dapps and XR Web browsers for iOS and Android are currently under development, you can already purchase the token and start building your digital real estate holdings.

The quickest / easiest way to take part in the purchase as a STEEM holder is to transfer at least the minimum amount of STEEM to @gofindxr. You will need to add your public ETH address in the memo field of the transfer. This last step is optional, but if you want, you can then fill out this Google Form. The form is mainly for security and community purposes and is not required. I chose to fill out the form and a short time after I made the transfer I received and email from them detailing the delivery of my tokens.
