Can we support this writer?
Writers, have you ever received feedback that crushed you? Made you rethink whether or not writing is something you're good at or should even do ever again - even if it was just a brief passing thought?
I know I have, and so has @zeldacroft. In her first post in long time she tells us about how a teacher at university, a person of power and knowledge, made her question her ambitions and talent.
Now, she happens to be my daughter, so I know how hard this hit her. Seeing your child beaten down by someone (whether intentional or not - but really do you say such harsh things unintentionally? ) is difficult and I'm proud of her for sharing her experience.
My request for all of you who have a similar experience is to comment on her post and share share it with her. Let her know she isn't alone in it, and what you did to build your confidence back up. I know it would mean the world to her.
