Today I've got an exciting and interesting collection of books as recommended by us - the team at ecoTrain!

Who are ecoTrain?

The ecoTrain is a Steemit community of talented, like-minded and self-motivated people who share positive news and personal stories about their journey's through life. We have collected together to share experiences in sustainability, self-sufficiency, architecture, Permaculture, art, investment, psychology and philosophy and we all have one goal in mind of helping to bring a positive attitude towards change.

These books have been hand picked, but I wanted first to share 5 of my personal top favourite books to date.

1.Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things
by Michael Braungart & William McDonough.

Life cycle analysis looks at the processes products go through in their lifetime from raw material extraction all the way to disposal. This book totally flips that idea inside out and remodels the concept 'cradle to grave' to 'cradle to cradle'. Based on sustainability, true sustainability, where products physically have no or little waste in their lifetime. It's written wonderfully by German chemist M. Braungart and U.S architect W. McDonough and it kept me glued to it the whole time I read it.

2.Earthship Volume 1
by Michael Reynolds

I've spoken a lot in recent posts about the Earthship building design and hows its incredible core design enables the home occupants a near self-sufficient lifestyle. Earthships Volume 1 gives all the basic tools needed to understand the concept, to design one and then how to actually detail and build one. It is a must-have book for new Earthship enthusiasts as it was for me during my time with @eco-alex in India at his Earthship.

3.Emergency Sandbag Shelter and Eco-Village: Manual-How to Build Your Own with Superadobe/Earthbag
by Nader Khalili (Author), Iliona Outram (compiler)

A huge shout out must go to Iliona Outram (Khalili) who deserves recognition for her efforts to compile her former husband's works of Super-Adobe architecture into one comprehensive guide, this book. Born out of the projects at Cal-Earth Institute in California, this book documents how building with earth can be a profoundly impressionable experience. It covers not only the physical 'how-to' building process involved but also the ripple effects on self, community and community spaces.

4.Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications
by Steven M. Greer

Dr Steven Greer and a team at the CSETI (The Center for the Study of Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) have assembled key evidence required to answer that big question; that we are not alone in the universe. This book will aid you on your first steps in building confidence in accepting that the majority of conscious life beyond this planet is not hostile and is contactable through self-guided or group meditation, under the stars. It explains how purity of spirit and awareness of consciousness play a big part in the practice.

5.Rich Dad Poor Dad
by Robert Kiyosaki

Why don't we teach kids more about how to invest money?
This is a self-empowerment book that really brings light the contrasts that can be found between an academic person versus a financially wealthy person, and how just because one is an academic, does not automatically mean one is good with cash.
Although Robert Kiyosaki is a controversial character, his book brings up some vitally valid points about how little we learn in school about financial literacy, and how we can do more to teach ourselves and our children about great money management. A board game called Cashflow 101 and Cashflow 202 is also associated with the book, which totally blows Monopoly out of the water in terms of both education and fun.

This is the first book of a 9 book series (The Ringing Cedar Series)! I have read quite a lot of books in my time and these are the most profound (as far as the feelings and changes in my life they have provoked) books I have ever read. I am only 5 books in and have been reading them for the past few weeks as they have just come into my life! I have all the books in PDF form and share a donation with the organization for anytime I send a PDF to someone who wishes to embark on this journey!

If anyone would like a PDF send me your email!

Great collection and a really good idea for a post. I'll add all of these to my reading list, which is already long as I spend too much time on the internet - especially reading steemit - to have any left for actual books. It's a shame because I really love books.
Resteeming this for my own reference and for your success. Steem on @mrfunkymonk !
