Hey Steemit,

As you know I live in South Africa. So I wanted to give you an idea of how much items cost over here, so you can compare it to your country's currency if you ever had to come live here. & yes if you want to come visit I have a place for you to crash :-)

Don't worry, I'll do the currency & weight conversion for you. I know you're probably busy or, yes I'm going to say it, lazy! haha

My country's currency is called the Rand.

Ok enough rambling, let's jump right into it shall we.

Wow!
Expensive.
Thanks for the information.

You are very welcome.

& yes, expensive indeed !

I have always said it is an expensive place to live. Pensioners struggle.

That is the truth !

Wow ground beef cost $5 over here, but I'm guessing if I converted my money I'll have enough to buy beef .

Question, how much do you make in one month.

Yea it was just to give a general idea of the conversion.

Holy, everything costs a small fortune there. How can anyone afford to feed themselves or their families? That's insane.

I mean $8.99 for a chocolate bar...I love chocolate but not enough to spend that kind of money on a single candy bar. Yikes. :(

I use a lot of milk and hamburger here but at the prices they charge over there I'd starve and so would my family. :(

How can anyone, unless they are corrupt (bribed) or super wealthy afford to live there?

How much does it cost for 10 pounds of potatoes there? What about spaghetti noodles or flour for baking? I'm scared to find out...

Great post though. :D

Thank you my friend! Yes, food is very expensive here !

The candy bar is Rand 8,99

Not Dollar :)

You're welcome. :D

Even if the currency is in Rand, the prices seem quite excessive, at least to me. I couldn't afford to live there that's for sure.

It's not that bad my friend :)

Come visit me :)

That would be so cool. :D I love going to new places but my traveling days are over unfortunately. :(

Thanks for the offer though. :D

No problem. It's an open invitation. :)

Some things here in europe are more expensive than in yours, but you can't completely compare the prices making a simple fiat rate conversion, because you have to keep in mind , that is have to be compared to average salary... if a middle class month wage is 1000 or 10000 make a lot of difference. so vs. euro and italian prices, yours are lower, but here an average worker keep 1000/1200 euro month, i don't know what takes in Rand in SA.

Thank you so much :-)

You need to get out of there asap. That seems to expensive find a better place where you can actually survive!

I know right!

Here's what I'm thinking.... USA baby! <3

Following, yeah the prices in the states on things are ridiculous as well on things

Aaaaaw, thank you so much.

Following as well

hey man :) big amounts ,damn :D

I know right? lol

Thx for commenting @freshstuff

Your milk and gas is more expensive than it is where I live in New York State. Everything else is more expensive here.
Very interesting to know xD

Thanks for letting me know my man !
