Below is the first ever (example) episode of "Carrie's House of Horrors" (still working on a name...)

I'm looking for collaborators!
Do you write scary stuff? (Not too scary, I need to stay PG13.) I'd potentially like to do 1-2 segments per 2 hour show. Each one would be less than 5 minutes. Basically, I read the story in an intense, dramatic fashion (😉) and add sound effects. I've written and performed the example below to give you an idea of what I'm after. This story isn't too scary, more suspenseful... kinda...😏
You can sit back and listen or read along with my sound cue notes. 😘
QUIET

Jessica opens her eyes. It’s bright. Almost painfully bright. And white. White everywhere. Her eyes begin to adjust. As they do she starts to look around, first noticing how wonderfully quiet it is.
HELLO QUIET -- “Hello!” Her call echoes for what seems like forever.
HELLO ANYONE THERE -- “Hello!” “Is anyone there?!” No answer.
Not shaken, feeling almost at ease Jessica walks off in one direction, getting no further from or closer to anything. It’s pure white. Even the floor-- possibly not a floor, but merely a continuation of the white. Nothing makes a sound. If she runs, jumps or slides across the white-- nothing. Complete silence.
HELLO QUIET --“Hello?”
“Good,” she thought, “at least I can still hear myself”.
Continuing to walk Jessica starts to feel more and more uneasy. The quiet is getting to her. Was it just yesterday she was begging for a little quiet? She can’t remember.
BABY DOG TRAFFIC only
Just a moment free of
babies crying,
traffic racing,
dogs barking,
horns honking,
police sirens screaming and
neighbors fighting… FADE OUT
Just a single moment is all she wanted. And now she has it. And it’s horrible. The quiet is deafening.
“Hello?” She makes the shape with her mouth, but no sound comes out.
“Hello?” She tries again. Nothing.
She knows she’s saying it. She hears it in her head, but the echoes are gone.
(pause)
It’s. So. Quiet.
Jessica sits down on the continuation of white and puts her head in her hands.
“Wake up.” She thinks to herself.
“Wake up. Come on. This has got to be a dream. Wake up.” All while rocking herself back and forth without making a single noise.
THUD SOUND EFFECT
“Hello? What was that? Who’s there?” She jumps up and runs towards the sound. Suddenly, she’s in her own apartment, but she sees herself. It is yesterday.
QUIET COMPILATION (Busy city sounds, baby crying, police)
“Ugh! It’s so loud! I can’t even think!”
“Will you just shut up, Joel!” She watches herself yell at the baby in the next room.
(Pounding on wall, yelling from neighbors)
“Not you again! Just stop!” I can’t take this! I just can’t!”
Jessica is watching as the scene unfolds. She’s starting to remember, but everything is just so loud.
She watches herself fumble behind the mirror in the bathroom.
“I know they are in here.” “Yes!” She grabs the bottle. She hesitates. The loudness increases. She quickly takes a few.
“I’ll just knock myself out for a while.”
(neighbors fighting, police sirens)
“Stop!” she screams and BANGS on the wall.
They stop. She sighs relief and goes to the window in the main room.
TRAFFIC SIRENS FADE IN
It overlooks the city. There’s no fire escape because several years ago an air conditioner fell from floors above taking the whole thing down. Always made her wonder if it would have even held a person or not.
With the drugs taking full effect in her system, the city noise was now dampened. Plus, Joel had finally cried himself to sleep and the neighbors were seemingly on a break too.
Jessica leaned in and opened the window wide,
TRAFFIC SIRENS (TURN up slightly)
letting the now-muted city sounds and fresh air blow across her face. She sits on the sill.
The police sirens were blaring so loud and close she didn’t notice her large, inebriated neighbor bust through her door come stomping towards her.
WHO THE HELL! “Who the hell do you think you are?!” the giant, foul-smelling man screamed as he approached.
Startled she stood up from the windowsill and bumped her head. Losing balance, and naturally swaying to avoid the incoming threat, Jessica suddenly fell through the open window. 14 stories down. (FADE OUT SOUNDS)
She opened her eyes. It’s bright. Painfully bright. And white - everywhere.
HELLO QUIET “Hello?” (echoes)
“How peaceful”, she thinks. “It’s so quiet.”
END

Though sad.....I loved the ending.
Was sound the second character?
Good script! I love how you mixed all the sound in.... lots of work there.
The narration really helped move the story along nicely....just felt it was maybe a little rushed in some parts....perhaps a pause or breather in some of those moments for a bit of dramatic effect?
This is great stuff. When are your scheduled show dates....? Would love to give it a shot with you....hahaha we'll see how well I remember my pauses n breaths then.

Thank you! I also think it's sad. The story was based on my own fears... of course. First, being lost and alone, next not being able to speak or be heard and finally, making some kind of innocent mistake that ultimately results in your demise. Scary stuff. To me.
Sound is NOT the second character. This was meant to simply show an example of a short story... that I then added FLAIR to with the sound effects. Essentially, the story can be read without any sound effects (as most stories are).
So basically, any story will do. Though some do NOT have any sound effects, I could still read them (dramatically). LOL!
Shows run EVERY TUESDAY 12 AM UTC. All the other info and links are in the post above.
At first, (unless I get some serious collaborators), we will be focusing on "Space Carrie's Adventures in Space" and adding more characters, some recurring, some not.

I just read that story. Wow. I could very well use that...
I'm going to decide in the next couple of days what to use for the next show... I'll let you know if I pick you for this week.
Also... In case you missed it. I also premiered another segment that's even MORE "Old Time Radio"-esque (? LOL) . @chrisroberts wrote the script AND acted as two characters. I had @sircork do some commercial sound bites and a little bit of me... Then I edited it all together with sound effects... And Bam!
It's less than ten minutes of purely hilarious entertainment. 😎
