The Blackout : A Short Story

The knockout was worldwide as I've come to learn, lot happened in between the darkness and the light that came back brought with it some sorrows. Mum and dad was gone for all I know, lots of things really happened in the dark.
The scavenging that follows and breakage of stores and homes of the rich to look for anything that can supplement we the left behind. I cried all day not seeing my parents, they never really cared for me anyway, so I was on my own at all time.
Then the second blackout, this was massive as I saw flies coming out if the sky, as they moved closer they became bigger, bigger and bigger till I saw a giant alien like figure with a horrible shape with a sickle-like armour at hand d, have they come to harvest mankind as the conspiracy theorist have said.
The next I saw was an intense flash of light envelop us and that was all I know.
Woke up to noticed a neatly made room like a full flat apartment, gadget that are of the latest, the kind you see in futuristic sci-fi movies, I quietly gathered myself together to take a walk around and map my surroundings, only to see on the floor a plate of food, with all kind of fruit and vegetables, just name it, it's there.
"What is this place? "
What was that place?
C'mon! Don't keep me hanging, where did you find yourself???
That's the suspense I actually want to create in the story.
