Coastal Detox- my Weekly Health Challenge entry
Coastal Detox
In the winter;
We rug up and pop a squat by the lake and cast a line out.

In summer;
We either take the kayaks out on the lake, or go beach fishing.

We look for pippies on the beach or go beach worming.
Sometimes we flat out go swimming, snorkelling or jumping off the Gantry after a long hot day.

We build sandcastles with the kids, and bury each other and transform one another into mermaids.
Mermaids
Some of us even get naughty with building private parts. But we all love combing the beach for shells.
My hubby prefers to blow off steam by going surfing, or diving.
Waves
I prefer a boogieboard or a pair of snorkels, or wave hopping (which I like to call water ballet).

This is where I pretend I'm a lithe ballerina and let the waves do all the lifting and turning.
Everyone loves Body surfing! And we like to make a game out of the waves as the surf picks up called unders and overs, which can get a bit rough if you don't time it right.

It's never the same trying all this at the swimming pool or in a paddling pool because you can never float quite as well.
This is because of the lack of oxygen and salt in a man made watering hole.
And that's how we do it here!
