Why don't we start with an introduction on Love?

It is generally acceptable to say love is a feeling you feel when you got a particular feeling that feels joyous for a person. I like that too, but it will be a lot better if I let you know more about love through the comparisons embedded in the topic, a better understanding can be obtained.

Love Then.

A man and woman come together, go on a few dates, make sacrifices for each other, laugh together, grieve together. Do we sense love there?, sure! Amidst all the above, something, a feeling has sprouted, it is the reason they could see most things through together. That is Love in all essence.
Love was more about the dinners and the conversations, most importantly, if love exists, cheating does not surface.
P.D.A (public display of affection) was cautiously done, not because you are not in enough love to jump off a cliff together, but because love does not exist in show-offs. Love knew no boundaries, Romeo could die for Juliet.

Love Now.

I met this lady yesterday and we had quite an interesting chat. This morning I woke up to a text which ended with the famous words; I LOVE YOU.

What if she isn't actually demented, but just believes she is in love?
Love now is about the butterfly and milkshake dates, the KFC and Coldstone outings.
Love noe is about who got the higher financial power, I'm surely not saying we should be okay with anybody of just any status but we have to get our priorities right.
Love has been reduced to a 5 minutes thing, 10, 15, 20 maybe if viagra is involved.

I am not saying you should just go around dying for people, but our love has to become a lot more selfless, you shouldn't love someone because of how much you stand to gain.
Due to these standards love has been lowered to, cheating now seems okay and is done with a lot of ease because you feel the one you love has lost something you want. Whereas, if our love was selfless as it should be, a lot of facies would frown at such acts.
