An optimist's test.

People often say they're optimists, but in reality, they can only prove it when they actually pass the real test of their optimism. LOL.

Here are a series of photographs taken on the banks of a stream that flows out of a small lake in the Riscani sector of the Moldovan capital.

Nothing special, it seems, but I've dreamed many times of catching fish in this very stream by hand, simply walking along the stream and pulling the fish out of the water.

Once there, I looked at the stream and thought that such a stinking place exists in almost every city and that there's no chance of catching a fish there. That day, my optimism deflated like a balloon.

The strong smell of hydrogen sulfide and something else emanating from the stream seemed to confirm my opinion that the stream was lifeless, and there was a lot of trash there.

The idea of ​​going there again with a fishing rod seemed bad to me, not worth the time spent fishing in such a place.

But five or six years passed, and I came across a video of a fisherman who decided to check all the bodies of water in Chisinau for fish, and this stream was no exception.

I admit, I was surprised to see him catch crucian carp, rudd, perch, and gudgeon in this stream.

What surprised me even more was the presence of gudgeon in the stream.

Many fishermen complain that due to environmental degradation, they've stopped catching minnows, which have disappeared from their reservoirs. The word "ecology" and this stream are completely incompatible, lol.

Even the lake from which the stream flows can hardly be called ecologically clean.
