Are You a Football Fan?

Football... I have a strange mixture of feelings about this sport / mass phenomenon.

On one hand, I ignore it most of the time.

On the other hand, it turns out competitions like the World Cup, but also occasionally other good games fire me up too.

If we were to look at @penguinpablo's weekly report, all stats on the Steem blockchain seem to have tumbled since the World Cup started last week, in terms of engagement, activity and posts/comments.

Are there so many steemians glued to their TVs? There are more or less 6 hours of football every day during the group stages of the World Cup. 6 hours... that's a lot!

Or maybe Steem's price played a big role in this context too? Some are simply waiting for Steem's price to recover. Usually, I believe that's a mistake since these moves are generally sudden, and payout delayed by 7 days, but everyone interprets it as they wish. I simply continue to write, as much as I can, daily.

Yesterday played Germany and Brazil. Hmm, anyone had different expectations? Maybe next round will be better for many of the favorite teams which didn't seem very convincing on their debuts. Don't get me wrong, I usually side with the little teams in an uneven game, so I enjoyed yesterday's match ups! On the other hand, their objective is also small, so I want to big teams to move forward, because they won't get cold feet and the match-ups might be more balanced after the groups stage.

Here I am talking about football while I think there's a game on right now. I'd better rush it then. Nah, just kidding, I'm in no hurry, but really, I ventured on a topic where I started to find my words with difficulty, at this point. Hmm, I think I'd make a terrible (as in the worsed) sports commentator.

I am a football fan but the world cup is really a money machine

Aren't they all? Hopefully some will play football too!

I'm a pretty big fan of the World Cup. I look forward to it mainly because Canada hasn't been there since the 80's and allows me to cheer for whoever...I have no vested interest in any one country lol

As for STEEM....Get coins man, that's all I'm doing. I'll worry about the price of it all next year or later....Because no one really knows where this will end up. I believe in the platform and the entire concept of this blockchain....So that's good enough for me to keep creating :)

Yep, Romania isn't there either, so I have the same liberty of choice, so to speak.

Exactly, have more coins, think about their value relative to fiat or bitcoin or whatever after first wave of SMTs adoption, I'd say.

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

You may rely on it

Hi! I'm a bot, and this answer was posted automatically. Check this post out for more information.

The world cup has a big impact on the activities on steemit, because most steemit users are football lovers and they prefer spending their time with friends and family members to watch the beautiful game of soccer. The low price of steem also contributed to the low engagement we are experiencing in this platform also @gadrian

That's true. Thanks for your comment.
