PRODUCTIVITY TIP #4 - DISTRACTIONS

MINIMIZE DISTRACTIONS

Focus is really important while on a job or task. When you let yourself get distracted, you may find it difficult to get back on track and when you do, some considerable amount of time may be lost.

Sometimes, you lose the idea that perhaps had just come in before the distraction came. Thus you need to learn to minimize or avoid distractions entirely.

How do I do this?
First of all, you need to know what your distractions are to tackle them. They could be in form of email or msg notifications from your phone, visiting colleagues and friends, objects scattered around your workspace giving you the urge to arrange from time to time, etc.

To tackle this,
-Put your phone in the do not disturb mode.

  • Stop checking your Facebook and other social media posts while working.

  • Inform friends and family of your work hours and let them understand that you need your time and space.

  • Organize your workspace as said in the previous post.

  • Make sure your work environment is private depending on the nature of your work. This prevents easy interruption from others.

    If you're able to control distractions around you, your level of efficiency as well as productivity increases. You achieve more without having to go over certain things more than necessary. You also could get more insight while digging deep due to total focus on the task at hand.
