You have captured the vibe of Lisbon in these photos. There is beauty in these battered and distressed buildings. Once stunning facades now crumbling to dust.
The feeling of melancholy has influenced some of the most poignant works of art in existence. I often associate Marilyn Monroe with melancholy. She was a great and underrated artiste who had to exist in the shadow of her own making.

This quote jumped in my mind, remembering my sentiment, wandering the cities streets, stepping on the history, hiding under those tiles and stones.

I made it on the Azores, far away from Lisbon. The situatuon was ocean and volcanic rock. Only a few thousand inhabitants but mostly the ocean.
