Tamang panahon, matagal at imposible,
kapag hindi pinilit ngayon, kailan pa?
Ang lahat-lahat ng kwento mo at pagod mo
ay makalilimutan mo nang lubos-lubos.
At parang pangako mo na hindi matutupad
ang aking buwan ng lungkot,
kung nararamdaman mo, O aking mahal,
parang Nobyembre kinatatakutan ko na.
Labi mong mapupula, na dugo sa pula,
may guhit pahalang ibaba't itaas;
matatalinhagang mata na parang may chongke,
isang milyong adik nagkakandarapa sa pagtitig.
Parang mga paniki malaya't mailap
na hindi natutulog sa gitna ng gabi;
ito'y lumalayo sa tuwing ako'y lumalapit
at sa mga yabag ko lumilipad agad sila nang mabilis.
Anila sa mga palabas, ang tamang panahon
ay napaghihintay kahit na si Juan na mainipin;
ako ay walang tiyaga, nang sinabi mo sa isang taon pa,
at nagtiyaga ako nang iyong paligayahin.
