Let's Talk Witnesses -- Steemit Ramble Discord -- Friday March 23rd 11am EDT 3pm UTC
During this morning’s Pimp Your Post Thursday the topic of witnesses:
— what they do
— how they get paid
— the problem with ram
— who they are
— how to vote
— the issues with dead witnesses
And several other questions and discussions could have easily taken over the whole show time.
So, tomorrow — Friday March 23 at 11am EDT (3pm UTC)the Steemit Ramble discord we’ll carry on with that discussion. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
I know that Witness @sircork will join us. Any and all other witnesses are welcome and encouraged to be there. It’s an opportunity for members of the community to hear from you and get to know you.

Don't really know much about witnesses, other than it seems like they "run things."
Ideally it would seem that we should vote for the witnesses that serve some version of Steemit that's in alignment with our own hopes and ambitions. A bit like local government, perhaps? But it seems quite difficult to find out what each witness really stands for. Specifically, do they stand for the long term good of the community or simply lining their own pockets?

Thank you @shadowspub. I definitely need to and want to learn more about Witnesses and what they exactly do. I think any steemain who is serious about the Platform and where it is going should be knowledgeable about this. It could very well determine our future
you have stated that very well @robertandrew ... the work of the witnesses is important and it's also important for us to choose wisely when it comes to voting.

You need to show up and learn about the witnesses.
