GuiltyParties Witness Update - 9 Nov 2017
Technical Excellence
- No missed blocks
- Full private node has been shut down and is presently getting better hardware sourced for it; we were dissatisfied with its performance and are not willing to accept anything less than perfection, particularly since value-added services are scheduled to run on it
- Bots are reassigned to public nodes and are continuously monitored
- We are able to undertake bot creation/design projects but only if they add value to the community and are not invasive
- We do not support invasive bots or projects that are not designed with the end-users' benefits at heart
This week we were able to give a hand to a few other witnesses setting up or with their projects. We support witnesses and users who seek or are actively working on creating fresh, out of the box solutions for the Steem blockchain. There are some very interesting projects being worked on out there not just by ourselves but by others.
We don't get involved in popular controversies where we feel we lack information to make a sincere judgment call. We feel that's part of being honest; we don't just jump on the bandwagon and only speak out when we feel strongly about a topic. Sincerity and honesty are paramount.
No Memo Begging
You will never see us send you or anyone else a memo begging for a witness vote. We do need your support and your vote but all of us agreed that maintaining decorum and personal dignity is more important than moving up in rank. Yes, we are aware that we're getting passed by for the big votes because of this. You can read our post about this and we ask you to weigh in in the comments below. Do you expect witnesses to send you either dust or a kickback for your vote?
Projects
NEW: New User Support (project name to be determined)
I personally have been randomly picking users asking for assistance in chat rooms and giving them a hand getting started, making their posts work, setting up their accounts or just getting past the registration process. I don't discriminate against these users based on their location, monetary evaluation, identity, gender, or anything else. I will start making regular posts and resteems highlighting these users to welcome them. Check out our latest post about helping new users.
Regular projects are going strong and we'll make a separate update for them. You can read about them in our previous update.

A well done job.
@yehey
Thanks man.
Keep up the good work!
I don't expect anything back from witnesses other than keeping the blockchain running. I think that should be enough of an "ROI"for a witness vote.
FYI there is no ROI for witness if you're not in the Top 50. Many witnesses are burning $ to provide an excellent service to the community and support steem blockchain. Not to mention the time spent to manage the servers.
Cheers,
@yehey
Yeah you're pretty accurate. He means ROI for the voter I believe.
Wasn't talking about ROI for witnesses themselves, was talking about those expecting something back for their votes. Hence why ROI was in quotes because it's stupid to except something back from someone you vote for when all you did was make a few clicks and the witness is the one doing all the work.
That's good to hear. That's the real ROI one gets from the vote; dedication to processing blocks and maintaining the servers that make all of this possible.
Exactly. Expecting dust or other kickbacks is ridiculous. The fact that witnesses keep this whole thing moving forward should be enough of a reason to vote!
At any rate your work is much appreciated @guiltyparties!
Super!
