Wing Chun Qi Gong Five Principles: Part 5 of 6 Concentrate

in #wingchun6 years ago

Concentrate

Concentration means to "focus". In other words, do not think of anything else, but place your mind only on what you are doing.

It can be compared to harnessing the suns rays with a magnifying glass as an analogy. What you need to do is, take all of your minds energy (the sun), such as random thoughts and emotions, and harness the mind energy into a single channel (single ray) to only what you are doing.

So when you Tan Sau, only Tan Sau. When you Huen Sau, only Huen Sau. And when you Wu Sau, only Wu Sau.

Not, you Tan Sau and you think about what you'll be doing on the weekend. Or you Huen Sau, and think about what you need to do at work tomorrow. No. No thinking. Place the mind within the body on what you are doing.

Applying the Theory

Feel free to apply this to your Siu Nim Tao practice - especially section I.

Practice

So add this onto your daily practice!

Best of luck.
