How goes the Steem battle today?
The current mood on Steem has me walking down memory lane considering my own Steem experience.
When I first started on SteemIt, I did four posts a day. Usually a story of some sort, a status report on how my SteemIt experience was going, A "Hot Chick Pic" and I don't remember what else. lol, as I mentioned in a recent post - some of those, many of those didn't receive enough to create a payout. However, the process was fun and it likely improved my writing and definitely my focus. Overtime I quit trying to try everything and I also quit trying to limit myself to a topic or area. I am too inconsistent to do pull that off. I just write what I am thinking about and that might be of interest.
Here is a flashback to a "Hot Chick Pic". They were pictures of my own flock with some sort of nasty, pornish sounding titles. I came up with the idea while I was trying to identify the breed of a chick, and I googled "Black Chicks". lol, I had a lot of fun with the "Hot Chick Pics".

Not many liked the one called, "Hey check out my big Cockerel"
LOL, but a couple received a nice payout when @blocktrades voted on them occasionally. That was enough to keep trying.
I've written a few posts recently about how things were hard when we were minnows also. I've spent many hours reading and writing on Steem. Some of the time was spent building an audience, but some of it also was honing my own skills, and learning how to be comfortable with what I have to offer. It just is what it is.
I've been here for 22 moons according to steemd, I've tried a bit of fiction, a few personal stories, art, commentary seems to be my thing and I write about Steem a lot, because it is often on my mind and it is the one thing we all have in common. As I have gotten to know the community it gets harder to share really personal stories. Isn't that odd, for me it was easier when the site felt more anonymous.
I've made some friends, and learned a few things, I am getting more comfortable with accepting my own up and down phases in generating interest in what I write about. I've have to admit I'm not Shakespeare either. Once I got more comfortable with just being who I am and saying what I have to say, things got much better and I no longer sweat about it.

- I have 4475 followers,
- I've made 8127 posts, including comments.
- I have 13,435.559 STEEM powered up. Worth somewhere around 50k USD (rounding for price variation)
- Which ranks my account at 863rd largest, by "Own Steem Power" on https://mysteemitfriends.online/#
- I'll let you judge whether that is success or failure.

Good read. I am a minnows myself. Started posting about a week ago. Its hard to get people read your stuff. How did you get blocktraders to upvote your content.
Blocktrades changed strategy in November 2017. Before that, he (and the mrs Blocktrades) were avid readers and curators.
Now, things have changed. Maybe it has been become a little bit harder to succeed at Steem, but setting goals and going for it is never a bad idea.
I am writing articles consistently to get more followers. Also trying to find my genre
He likes photography, or at least in those days, he voted on photography posts quite a bit. One of my hot chick pics earned $110. or something due to blocktrades. I've never spoken with him that I know of.

Hi whatssup. You have done well and like the way you think. Write what you want and are open to anything. Makes it more interesting for you and us. It is amazing how you can grow on here. Just got to keep plugging away. It helps if you enjoy it.
This is really a great success here. My main posts are related to 3D art, digital Painting and photography these days. With time our preferences in life changes so we must act accordingly otherwise we will not evolve as a great human being.
