The most annoying thing people will find on Steemit is people who downvote posts not because there's something wrong with them, but just because it's a topic they aren't interested in. I assume this problem will be fixed with better topic filtering, but right now a lot of people just downvote everything that's the equivalent of not their musical interests.

Yep, Rather than try to downvote someone repeatedly. Better to make a rational post and draw some attention to the flaw in the design, as you see it. Downvoting shouldn't be used to draw attention to it. Downvote rampage I like the phrasing though!

I saw the original post I agree with you in that it seemed a bit obnoxious. Maybe this is my opinion only, but downvoting.... I tend to reserve that for content that is fraudulent, spam or abusive in nature. I also agree (before you even say it!) that what he was doing... you could make an argument that it is abuse. I also think that the argument should be made. In a post is great... open it up and bring it attention. I am sure there's other avenues as well that offer an option. It's been stated in posts though... that if in fact it is abuse of the platform in a way that was unintended or unplanned for. It serves to correct the system and the rewards they've garnered can be considered a "bug bounty".
Yes I was intentionally obnoxious to make a point. The point being, I can upvote anyone I damn well please. I can protect my comments from downvote trolls, I can upvote my own comments to move them to the top, this is nothing new and has been practiced since the inception of Steemit.
If someone makes a wise comment about me moving our conversation to the top so everyone can see it over everything else (because it was a pertinent discussion and everything else was mainly noise) then that's what I will do and what others do routinely.
Being called out like I've done something wrong for moving our conversation to the top was what drew my sarcastic response. If you really want to see obnoxious, scroll back a few months in Steemit history to see real whales giving themselves hundreds of dollars for their own comments for no apparent reason. I was simply making a point that the guy was being a wise ass for no reason and that I have the right to upvote whoever I want, even myself to move the conversation up.

This tuck guy sent me a penny and told me pretty much to watch my back.....for the record ..I don't care if Tuck down votes the content I post.... I have enough influence in the off line world to fill my ego up...I grateful you took the time to read the comments to the link I posted.... and thank you for writing back something that was adult . Tuck. I am very fine with the vote removal. I also want to be clear that my post above, was what I felt in the moment (what you just say you were aiming for), and that I also know I would likely do the same lol. There are multiple sides to everything, and while I see where he is coming from, I also support your right 100% to be you. Not pleading for my vote back. Just saying you absolutely have every right to use your vote how and when you like, and I would never oppose it.
