I received an ommonis warning from a whale. I don;t know what it means to be honest.... I'm being strong armed to not down vote content.... I don;'t understand this bully and what the threat means.....This is what he/she wrote ...

These are the comments I downvote that got this whale all steeming pulling bully tactic and then mocking the content I've contributed to steemit ....shameful to be honest someone like this actually has influence on this platform

Yes you can. Just keep in mind that others can downvote anything they think is asinine, like most everything you've done so far on Steemit.

You're just having a hard time grasping the fact that you aren't the only person here that has the ability to downvote.
Imagine that! Other people can downvote you. What a novel idea. Others, with the ability to do as they please too! Wow, what a great platform Steemit is!
Since you want to go around and establish that you can downvote whatever you want, I'm failing to see how you cannot fathom that other people also have that ability. How dare they downvote you back!
Be sure to tell your 100k Twitter followers that if they come to Steemit acting like ass clowns (or you in this case) downvoting people left and right simply because they don't like what someone said or don't agree with a comment that they will likely be downvoted right back and will not do well here.
Be sure they are aware that others also have the right to downvote and not just them, which you are having a hard time grasping. You still think you get to go around downvoting anything you don't like or agree with but if someone does it back to you they're a "bully" and need to be publicly shamed.

Here's how it works. There are these buttons and people use them. When people use them properly people get money. When downvote trolls (aka you) use them improperly people lose money and reputation (like you're currently losing).
A tactic used to protect oneself from downvote trolls (aka you) is for a person to upvote their own comments so that when a downvote troll (aka you) come along and start downvoting their comments for no reason other than ... oh say something asinine like "I think it's fluff!", then our comments are not hidden by the downvoting troll (aka you).
In the instance you are referencing there was a guy who didn't understand this same concept and popped off with a smart ass comment, much like you're doing now. So I upvoted everyone else that commented (but not them) and gave them all money (something you're unlikely to receive here judging by your current malcontent).

The only thing I down voted besides Tuck for abusing and gaming the platform was someone who was posting negative Mem's about gay people.... Yes I down vote someone who was being hateful towards gay people....It all all the block chain...investigate my other down votes and you will see I am using the flag button properly...unlike tuck who more them likely just down voted this post......this has gotten very school yard like...
It's a shame potential "subscribers" will be turned off by whales like Tuck.... maybe not as harmless as you think donkeypong...might want to pull him aside and explain how influence is suppose to work...
The most annoying thing people will find on Steemit is people who downvote posts not because there's something wrong with them, but just because it's a topic they aren't interested in. I assume this problem will be fixed with better topic filtering, but right now a lot of people just downvote everything that's the equivalent of not their musical interests.

Yep, Rather than try to downvote someone repeatedly. Better to make a rational post and draw some attention to the flaw in the design, as you see it. Downvoting shouldn't be used to draw attention to it. Downvote rampage I like the phrasing though!

I saw the original post I agree with you in that it seemed a bit obnoxious. Maybe this is my opinion only, but downvoting.... I tend to reserve that for content that is fraudulent, spam or abusive in nature. I also agree (before you even say it!) that what he was doing... you could make an argument that it is abuse. I also think that the argument should be made. In a post is great... open it up and bring it attention. I am sure there's other avenues as well that offer an option. It's been stated in posts though... that if in fact it is abuse of the platform in a way that was unintended or unplanned for. It serves to correct the system and the rewards they've garnered can be considered a "bug bounty".
Yes I was intentionally obnoxious to make a point. The point being, I can upvote anyone I damn well please. I can protect my comments from downvote trolls, I can upvote my own comments to move them to the top, this is nothing new and has been practiced since the inception of Steemit.
If someone makes a wise comment about me moving our conversation to the top so everyone can see it over everything else (because it was a pertinent discussion and everything else was mainly noise) then that's what I will do and what others do routinely.
Being called out like I've done something wrong for moving our conversation to the top was what drew my sarcastic response. If you really want to see obnoxious, scroll back a few months in Steemit history to see real whales giving themselves hundreds of dollars for their own comments for no apparent reason. I was simply making a point that the guy was being a wise ass for no reason and that I have the right to upvote whoever I want, even myself to move the conversation up.
