Michael's Fall: Weekend Freewrite Part 1

in #weekendfreewrite8 years ago (edited)

Thank you, @mariannewest, for this fun exercise. I have taken the holidays off from writing and posting, and this seemed like a great way to break back in.

Of course I am rusty, and this is quite short, but I do love the challenge, and I like how eerie it turned out! The idea is to write from a prompt for 5 minutes without stopping, and see where it takes you. Check out @mariannewest's blog if you would like more information. Once I post all three parts to the three-part weekend freewrite challenge, I will add all links to all posts. Here is part 1.

Michael's Fall

Michael sat down in the middle of the road and began to cry. The car that had dropped him off here was gone, driven by a man he had once called his father. What did that word even mean, when that person had no love for you?

He wiped away his tears and stood again. That was it. No more. He was done. That was the last time he would cry or feel anything for that human being, ever. No more crawling back and begging to be taken in.

Michael took a deep breath and let the air back out of his lungs, and looked around. He was standing next to a large old building, red brick, covered with vines. The vines were so think, they covered whatever sign had once announced the building’s name or purpose. The windows appeared dark, but he could vaguely see a light illuminating a back room somewhere in the depths of the first floor. Nothing else along the road looked inhabited. Where had his father left him? It appeared to be a nearly abandoned town. Except… there was that light.

write from a prompt for 5 minutes without stopping,.. It makes you express things inside you. In a mysterious way.
but it is nice story @jayna ... part 1

Thank you for reading and commenting, @yagoub. Much appreciated.

Nice start. I will be reading the rest with my coffee. I am doing my first wkend freewrite and wondered how to handle the nav links. I hope you don't mind if I take a few pointers on how you did it.
