She loved both her husbands. But in a world full of betrayal, all she could do was wage war against the thoughts raging in her head. She knew her first husband was cheating with another girl. Heck, it wasn't just some girl. She was her best friend. The thought of the two of them laying on top of each other was just too much to bear.

In a twist of events, her husband died in a freak accident. Her supposed best friend was also in the car when the accident happened. She survived the crash but the impact left her paralysed from her waist down.

The news proved to be too overwhelming for her as her knees went weak and she crumbled to the ground, wailing as though her world had come to an end. The devastation shook her to the core. Perhaps it was an act of God's mercy, she fainted and went into a coma for a very long time.

As she regained consciousness, she opened her eyes to a place different from what she remembered. There was a feeling about the place, but it wasn't what you'd expect. It felt eerily familiar.

"Good morning, love..." greeted the familiar face. As she fixed her gaze on his deep blue eyes and dimpled smile, fear struck as she struggled to remember his identity. It was as if her mind was doing a last minute revision, and if her memory serves her right, this guy is her current husband.

"Are you alright? You seemed confused. Maybe it's the medication. Here, have some water. Breakfast is ready, we're having bagels and cream cheese, just the way you like it. I made us coffee, too." Ah, yes. Coffee. She needed coffee.

As she excused herself to the washroom, she stood in front of the mirror for a good 10 minutes examining herself. It felt as though she had just awaken from a deep long sleep, everything felt surreal. Her hair was longer, and this dress... She couldn't recall buying this dress. It was an indescribable feeling; not having any recollection of your current relationship, and this house... something about this house.

Everything made sense as an envelope caught her eyes while she was rummaging through the things in the drawer of the dressing table. Funny as it sound, but it was as though she was searching for some sort of familiarity. There it was. It was the stamp on the envelope. In an instant, she saw flashbacks of what actually happened.

She remembered writing a letter to herself out of rage the day she found out Nate cheated on her. She vowed to bring this secret to the grave, and should people find out about what truly happened, she would kill herself.

"Dear Lydia, good job at hiring Jim. He did a great job with the car. I hope Sylvie would also be in the car when it happens. I just can't stand the thought of any of them surviving this. So much for true love, Nate. I trusted you with my heart and you decided to give yourself away to someone else. You lying coward. I never want to see you again!! Jim is going to be great. He's loyal and he never cheats. I hope he'll stay true like he did all these years, just like how I've promised to marry him after all this is done. He better not betray me or I'll make sure he'll end up the same."

She looked into the mirror and all the memories came crashing in. She remembered. As she slipped the letter back into the envelope, she let out a satisfied sigh with a sinister smile, and a sense of pride welled up on her chest.

Yes, that's what you get for cheating on me. That's on you. Not me.
