Big Pharma Set To Lose More Than $18 Billion Thanks To Cannabis
As cannabis legalization continues to grow and more states and countries look to set up their own highly-controlled markets, it means that there could be great losses for the pharmaceutical industry.
It's been estimated that they could lose as much as $18 billion or more if the entire country were to legalize.
They could lose over $4 billion every year, if more people turn to choose cannabis to help with a myriad of issues, instead of going with their usual prescriptions.
A growing number of people are turning to cannabis for a wide range of illnesses, for anything and everything from headaches and anxiety, to PTSD, pain, and much more.

For many, cannabis is seen as arguably the natural and safer choice, especially since hundreds of thousands of deaths haven't been attributed to it and because our bodies have a natural endocannabinoid system.
Researchers are increasingly beginning to understand how cannabis might be vital in helping to prevent opioid misuse and how it can potentially help to provide healing for various addictions and ailments.
The endocannabinoid system is instrumental to our well being, present in every major bodily system and because of this it has been theorized that the dysfunction of the ECS can cause a myriad of illnesses, which researchers say is how cannabis can manage to treat them. If the system isn't functioning correctly, researchers note that you can add supplemental cannabinoids from cannabis to try and fill the void and seek a fix, to pursue that balance again, and this could be why so many people are seeing personal success with their issues, for such a wide range of ailments.
Pharmaceutical companies have been aggressively lobbying federal agencies against legalization of cannabis and they've spent millions of dollars on their efforts. Still, recreational or medicinal cannabis legalization has grown to encompass more than 20 states now, with many expecting that sometime in the near future we might finally see the federal war against cannabis come to an end, so that further research and innovation in this market can be explored.

I can faintly hear a sound coming from the tiniest of violins. Let's all shed a tear for big pharma. The article didn't mention insomnia, cannabis can definitely help one sleep, it isn't, however, a miracle drug and can cause serious issues with excessive use.
