Wednesday walk challenge along 5th Ave -and Steem Basic Income Give away
Wednesday walk challenge and Steem Basic Income Give away
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Try to limit yourself to a set distance or time from the starting location, say 5 Blocks, 5 Minutes walk or whatever and see what you can find in that short distance
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all.
Following me and resteeming the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion, but you may have a better chance of receiving a Steem Basic Income Share if you do.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, resteem and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending @steembasicincomeshares to a selection of those who participate.
This weeks Walk
For this weeks Wednesday walk post I will continue my festive theme photos and this time share some shots I took while I took a walk up 5th Ave

Not all the Festive displays are Chriostmas based as is shown with this shot of what I believe I have seen described as the Largest Menorah in NYC.
The Hanukkah menorah, also chanukiah or hanukkiah, is a nine-branched candelabrum lit during the eight-day holiday of Hanukkah

This is up on 59th Street just around the corner and Down the Street from Bergdorf Goodman ( which had very tasty window themes this year but that will be another post, it is a regular display put up each year, but probably not seen by as many as the big one son 5th or 6th Avenue

The Tiffany building always looks so beautiful at this time of year, they do their windows each year with a different theme, this year to me its a mix between an arcade and industrial feel, but those I will share in another post.

Cartier always decorates the outside of their building each year also, wrapping up the buildign with a bow and some glowing Panthers.

This is the cool display on the Salvatore Ferragno, it really stands out from a distance and is quite eye catching.

And finishing off with Atlas in front of one of the Rockefeller Centre buildings, and behindit is one of two Nutcracker figures, there are quite a few of them spread around the city.
Steem Basic Income give away
I mentioned in the guidelines that from this week I will be sponsoring a few who join the #wednesdaywalk challenge with shares on Steem Basic Income
What is Steem Basic Income you may ask well here is how they explain it
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content. so I have decided to randomly send some Steem to add shares for some of my followers so on the weekend I sponsored the following people
@maracuja, @steven-patrick, @nelinoeva, @ilsaione, @misterbob, @katrina-ariel, @donnadavisart, @silver314, @old-guy-photos, all people who joined in last weeks Wednesday walk .
And a special bonus this week @elizacheng will send one SBI share to @starjewel,
I would love to be able to give everyone who joins a Steem Basic Income share, but I don't make enough steem each week to do so, but I will try and share them around fairly between those that join the challenge
I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.
Unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

NYC is beautiful this time of year! Leave it to the jewelry and design stores to do it up really classy :)
OHh yes it truly is and the big stores really go over the top making such special displays I love seeing them all
Yay!! You got the Menorah! I was hoping you would!According to Livewire, com, it is is an enormous steel beamed structure standing 32 feet high. Not only does it commemorate the historic miracle that Hanukkah celebrates, but it also offers Yidden metros a sense of New York Citys Jewish community at a time when it seems the entire city is festooned with Christmas lights and Santas.
Thank you for taking this wonderful walk and showing off this beautiful city at Christmas!
The windows are works of art!
Happy #WednesdayWalk~!!!!!

I will drop my link in a few!
I just saw this morning I may have it wrong apparently the largest one is actually in Brooklyn
It is! :) It is pretty amazing to see!
I may try and get to see it if time permits :)
You should~!It is kind of cool and totally different than the one at the Plaza.

That is the lighting of the one in Brooklyn. It is technically only 1 and a half feel taller. :) They have been battling the largest title for years! LOL
LOL such a small difference but they battle anyway I guess its somehting important to them LOL
I was just reading up on them, they are actually the same height at 32 Feet which is the max allowed by the Jewish Law, but the Brooklyn on has the Centre candle 6 Inches taller LOL

Another wonderful series of shots and a great #wednesdaywalk . I can't believe it has been a week since your last one! This time is flying by!
One thing I always find interesting here in England is you often see the nativity scene in many places, even large squares and such in London, but I almost never see them in USA. Have you seen any set up in NYC?
Thanks :) Funny you should mention it, I havent noticed any Nativity scenes in my walks yet, there is one on the green in Milford where i love, I must do some searching and see if there are any in NYC
