A day outside...
Here is my contribution for this week's #wednesdaywalk which is hosted by @tattoodjay.
This is a walk that I took earlier in the summer with my son. He wanted me to see where the creek (more like a river than what I picture a creek to be) and the river meet. The only way to get there is to hike through the creek...sometimes needing to climb up on the bank because the water was too deep. It was a beautiful and peaceful place to walk.
Follow me through the creek and I will show you where it meets the river.
It is shallow enough here that we continued walking in the creek.
We found a spot to get up onto the bank during this part.
The hills next to the creek are quite tall. I believe that they were carved out by the glaciers a long time ago.
This looks like forget-me-nots, but it was long after mine had bloomed in my garden.
Almost to the river...keep walking...
I can see the river now. Almost there!
The river is just on the other side of the stump.
There it is!
It is amazing what you can find in "your own back yard".
The river is much deeper than the creek.
The river curves and twists through the woods. It hadn't rained in a while. I'm sure that if it had, the creek would have been much more difficult to navigate. It was a fun night of walking and enjoying my son's company.
Thank you for visiting today. I hope you enjoyed our walk together.
