Wednesday Walk ~ The Ventura Art and Street Painting Festival
Wednesday Walk is a weekly photography challenge created by @tattoodjay. I took my walk this week at the Ventura Harbor in Southern California, which was hosting the annual Ventura Art and Street Painting Festival. Artists of all sorts displayed their photography, painting, drawing, leather work, metal work, pottery, and so on for sale at a small mall. But, the highlight for me each year is strolling along the harbor and seeing the amazing street painting and chalk art, like these 3-D creations:
This next artist took his plein air painting and turned it into street art:
My camera couldn't capture the true intensity of the eyes on this owl...
or the cuteness of this seal:
Besides the art, the harbor itself offers some interesting vistas:
This viewer reminded me of WALL-E
And this Ventura Harbor photo-op looked a bit worse for the wear, courtesy of the salt and humidity:
I'll let the art speak for itself while I continue my stroll:
I met a cute dog who had broken her leg and was enjoying her Wednesday Walk being carried in a large handbag:
My last image is a bit somber. Every year this artist commemorates a celebrity death. Last year was Roger Moore, and this year was Anthony Bourdain. I heard some muttering about the appropriateness of this piece because of the way he had died though:
Thanks for walking with me! Be sure to check out all the other Wednesday Walk posts, and then go out and take your own walk and post it.
Thanks for joining Wednesday walk this week tip!
I love seeing art on display but WOW that 3D street art is amazing, its somehting i have never seen on my walks but I always hope one day I will
Thanks Jay! I really enjoy those 3-D paintings as well. Hate 3-D movies, love 3-D street art...go figure.
I am the same way I find I get a headache if I watch more than an hour of 3D TV or movie

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look @ykdesign. I appreciate your continued support.
Thanks for sharing that lovely art walk. There's some great art there and you showed it well!
Thanks @dmcamera. I really appreciate that coming from you:-)
You are welcome!
The 3 D street arts are amazing. Some of them are so realistic. Some years ago, when I first came across them, it took me a while to understand what's happening. :-)
Amazing street art! That is so fun to see. And the harbor looks beautiful. How can it be anyone's business how anyone else dies? I always liked Anthony Bourdain.
Thanks for taking a look. I agree about Anthony Bourdain. I thought it was nice to see him memorialized like that.
