Nisqually River in Rainier National Park

Nisqually River in Rainier National Park

I took this photo yesterday when I visited Mt. Rainier. Paradise Valley was engulfed in a heavy fog so I couldn't see the peak. I went down to the foot of the mountain where the river runs and scoped the area for a place to photograph and found all these rocks and boulder runoffs.

The Nisqually River used to be the territory of the Nisqually tribe who it was named after. The Nisqually also lived throughout southern Puget Sound along the Olympic Range. A treaty between the Washington territory and the native population of Puget Sound was signed in Medicine Creek.

The Nisqually were relocated from the river and the surrounding region after the signing of the treaty - a somber and sad fact of the history of Washington State.

All he could hear was the gentle bubbling of the stream, it soothed his thoughts. As a scout he took his responsibility seriously. The rest of the party would be along shortly and depended on his attentiveness. And then he felt it....he always knew when he was being watched.

Wow, what an amazing picture, the photograph shows beauty I hierarchy, every thing of nature framed in a single picture.
From stone boulders, river light green forest, dark green mountain with evergreen trees, light clouds to hazy sky.
You have a great picturing imagination, simply love it.
