Friendly Frankie - Part 2(Written Story with Pictures)

Frankie decided to just be led to see the Queen and be quiet the rest of the way. His head was spinning. Why did this Queen want to see him? How did she know who he was? Why were all the animals he came across so scared of him? He had so many questions bumbling through his head that he just could not make sense of.

Finally, he came face to face with the Queen.
“So you are the one the animals complained about.” She said firmly, looking at Frankie.
“I didn’t mean to scare anyone", Frankie said meekly.

“Well, it’s too late for that. Yes you are quite a big fellow, aren’t you? You, are charged with terrorizing the animals of this land. You have attempted to eat at least a few of them, and you clearly do not belong here. You will be locked up for the safety of all the animals that live in this land, that way you can be no more trouble until we know what to do with you.” The Queen said, quickly waving her hand in a motion that made the guards get closer to him. There was a little ninja standing at the foot of her thrown. He was standing firmly and just looked at Frankie intently. He took a couple of steps forward and signaled for the guards to proceed with the Queens orders.

Frankie was escorted to a cell made of very thick, tightly stacked logs. The guards made sure everything was secure, and the Ninja double checked their work. As the guards and the Ninja turned around to take their leave, Frankie started to beg “Please. Will you please listen to me?” He called out to anyone of them that might listen.

“I didn’t do anything wrong. I have no interest in eating anyone.” He said to them. The guards left the room with the Ninja not far behind, but before he could leave Frankie said just one more thing.
“I was just lonely, I wanted to make some friends and so I found your land. I don’t want to hurt anyone, I just don’t want to be alone anymore.” This stopped the Ninja in his tracks.

The Ninja turned around and looked at Frankie. “Is that true?” He asked Frankie.
“Yes. It is completely true. I have lived alone for a very long time. I just decided to finally go out and find others to become friends with. I came across all these nice looking animals and yet they all ran, scared of me. All I did was say Hello and try to introduce myself. I even smiled…” As he said that he smiled. His grin at first looking a bit frightening but that was because of his teeth and the huge size of Frankie.
He continued “and tried to tell them I wouldn’t hurt them, but it was of no use. They all ran away, every one of them. I am not still not fully sure why. I was just talking.” He said to the Ninja.

The Ninja just nodded and silently left the room. Frankie stayed there, quietly, not sure what to do next.

The Ninja walked quickly to the Queens throne room where the guards who were just with him, were now standing by the Queens side. “Queen,” The Ninja said. “I think you should let the large creature go”.
“Why is that? He is clearly a menace and trying to eat everything he sees,” She says back.
“I think we misjudged him.” The Ninja said, standing up straight. “I listened to his side of the story and he is not here to hurt anyone. He is actually here just to make some friends.” He said to the Queen.
She signaled for the guards to leave so she could talk to her advisor in private.

“How do you know this is true?” She asked.
“I know this because I listened to him. He is not a mean or angry fellow. He was very honest and he was even smiling, which is apparently what had scared all of the animals in town, probably because of the size of his teeth and how big he is. But he is not here to harm anyone. He just wanted to make friends since he lives a lonely life. Yet no one took a moment to listen to his side. Instead, we all judged him as bad, dangerous, and an outsider because he was different. So I think you need to let him go.” The Ninja said to the Queen.

A couple moments later Frankie heard some footsteps walking down the hallway near his cage. After a couple more footsteps he saw who they belonged to, the Queen and the Ninja he had talked to.
“Is everything you told the Ninja the truth?” She asked Frankie.
“Yes. It is” He said while nodding.
“Very well. Guards!” She called out behind her. The two guards came down the hallway.
“Yes, my Queen?” They asked.
“I need you to release him. Please tear this down and let him out.” She firmly ordered.

The guards set to work without any hesitation and started to pull down the logs one by one. Finally, after a few moments, Frankie was free. He stepped over the pulled down logs. He looked down at the Ninja now standing in front of him and said “Thank you. Thank you very much for listening to me when no one else would”. The Ninja looked up and nodded at Frankie.

The Queen and the guards also walked over. The Queen apologized to Frankie. “I am so very sorry that I judged you before even hearing your side of the story. I am sorry we all judged you based on how different you seem. Please forgive us. Would you be able to do that?”

Frankie nodded.
“Thank you. Your forgiveness is very appreciated. Can you follow me back to the castle? I want to explain things to all the animals of the land”. Frankie agreed and followed the Queen, the Guards, and the Ninja back to the castle.

The Queen had called all the animals in the town into her castle. She announced to everyone that Frankie is indeed kind and does not wish to harm anyone. She apologized again to Frankie, and he again accepted. “He is welcome to stay here as long as he likes. Please do be as kind to him as he has tried to be to you.” The Queen said lastly. Her speech to the animals was over and she told Frankie he was free to do what he pleased.

After the Queens speech, all the animals he had come across, came over to Frankie.
“I am so sorry for hiding under a table and telling you to go away and leave me alone”. The cat said, looking down a little embarrassed.
“I am sorry for running away quickly as soon as I saw you,” The dog said with humped over shoulders.
“I am sorry for judging you and saying you were going to eat me. I am also sorry for not even trying to listen to what you had to say to me”, The pig said to Frankie.
“I am sorry for running past you and then slamming my door without even trying to talk to you first, and thinking you were bad before even getting to know you”. The creature with the big hair said.

Frankie looked at them all. They all stood before him and were apologizing and it was clear they all meant it. So he said, “That’s alright. I forgive you. Is it possible perhaps that we could learn to be friends?” He asked them all. All of the animals answered by looking straight up at him with nodding smiling faces.

“Great. I really could use some new friends,” He said smiling a big wide toothy smile.
