Do kids watch cartoons anymore?
Sup Steem punks & Steem princesses!
I grew up in the 90's and was an avid cartoon/anime daily viewer.
Still watching cartoons to this day
I can remember getting off the school bus and rushing home to watch whatever cartoons were on TV. I also recall waking up early on Saturday morning and waiting for whatever cartoons my local TV stations had to offer as "Saturday morning cartoons". These were extremely fucking grabbing moments of my childhood. As I have grown up I still eat cereal and catch myself streaming these old cartoons online.... while smoking a few bowls... indulging in nostalgia. It always feels nice to go back to them.
Whats the youth doing?
When I meet up with my little cousins, whom of which are around the ages of 5-10 years old, they do not have this relationship with cartoons. They watch live action TV shows or Youtube channels with video gamers like Jacksepticeye or Markiplier. No Disney Cartoons... No Nickelodeon.. None of it . It makes me sad to see that the youth has evolved to this sort of content. I know a parent wants their kids to gravitate towards things that make them feel nostalgic, but sometimes cartoons slip between the cracks. I notice that a lot of channels on TV arent even playing as many cartoons anymore. It has been high jacked by teenage drama shows and live action TV. Even cartoon network...CARTOON NETWORK... Its in THE FUCKING NAME... Has live action teenage dramas plaguing it. It made me wonder something.

Are cartoons becoming something retro?
We are talking mostly hand drawn traditional style cartoons.. NOT 3D animation Pixar style movies. Just regular old Tom and Jerry or Rockos modern life. These types of cartoons are now dying. They have been come a safe haven of nostalgia for adults. I dont see as many children watching cartoons. At least parts of the youth are still watching anime and can appreciate the classics. Anime just might help keep this art alive. It seems like cartoons will soon become a thing of the past. I enjoy these types of animations and still laugh at all the cheesy jokes. This sort of stuff is a pillar of my childhood and wouldnt give it up for anything. WE NEED TO SAVE CARTOONS!
The only way we can save cartoons is be proactive. All we have to do is introduce the youth to these types of cartoons. Explain the art that goes behind them and enjoy them together. Its our responsibility to not let cartoons die out entirely and all we have to do is watch. Show our kids some Fairly Odd Parents. Show them some Rugrats.. get them hooked on The Lion King or singing along to Aladdin. These films we grew up on shouldnt be left in the dirt for some live action adaptation with Emma Whats her face. SAVE CARTOONS!

I still mourn the death of Saturday Morning Cartoons...
yessss<3
Jay have you seen All Hail king julien?
That's actually my best. My friends think it's weird for a grown ass dude like me to still be into cartoons. Now I have a partner, lol
Oh I definitely watch far too many cartoons than any grown man should have business doing hahaah.. but I think its definitely part of our generation.
I doubt if you've seem more cartoons than me. Lol... I think I'll beat you on that
