We gave away baskets of food to men of low resources in honor of Father's Day

in #venezuela6 years ago (edited)

This month we gave away rice, flour, butter, beans, cheese, eggs and vegetables.

We chose these people because they are honest workers and each of them has something in common: they are parents who sacrifice theirselves to bring food to their homes and that despite the situation of this country and their salary, they do not leave your work or your country and continue with positive thinking that someday this situation will change.

We wanted to give these parents a gift in honor of their day, and thus provide a grain of sand in the situation that each of them lives.

Each basket of food contained:

Miguel Medina, 65 years old, lives alone with his wife of 68 years of age, despite his age he must still work to be able to eat, due to his age he is not hired in any company and he works caring for cars in this parking lot of a medical clinic.

his income is based on what people give him when they leave the parking lot after having taken care of their cars, which scarcely replaces a minimum wage per month.

Belisario Cárdenas, father of two children, he still continues to work as a painter despite his disability

He told us that one day when he returned from his job, he (put mantles on the roofs to make them waterproof) to remove the tar, he poured gasoline with a cloth on his body to clean himself, then that day the light went out, he lit a candle and the Gasoline pot went on together with him too. His leg tendons were burned so he can not walk, but despite all this he must work to feed his family.

Suarez Aparicio, he is 55 years old and has 4 children. He works as a street watchman in front of the mayor's office in San Cristóbal. He does not have a fixed salary, his income varies and goes according to the tips left by the owners

Pedro hernandez, he is 50 years old and father of 2 childrens. He works as car painter but due to the crisis in venezuela and the high prices of things, he told us that he is not getting work lately so his income are starting to reduce, sometimes is not enought to reach the month.

Arturo Cardenas, 58 years old. He works as night watchman on a comercial center. He earns the Venezuelan minimum wage that is 2$ (that is not enough to eat) When we gave the food basket to him he told us that at least for this week, he will no have to worry about how he will do to eat, that this is his primarly worry everyday, sometimes he need to go to his relatives houses to be able to eat that day.

Franklin Romero, 48 years old. father of 1 child, works in the prefecture and receives a minimum monthly salary ($ 2). He told us that he had to sell his house to pay for the medicines of his father and a brother, who became ill with cancer.

He helped them but at the end they did not beat the disease and they died. Now he has not house and lives in one rented with his wife and son, with the help of his wife, their salary is barely enough to pay the rent of the house, we can not imagine how they does to eat. He also told us that he has lost almost 30 kg since the crisis began (he was fatter)

DSC01611.JPG

German Niño, 72 years old father of two womans. Pensioned. He lives with his wife and two granddaughters, receives the government pension which is a minimum salary. He and his wife take care of their two granddaughters because their daughter (single mother) went to Colombia to work because of the crisis in the country.

We chose these people because they are honest workers who prefer to work for public for a minimum monthly salary (only $ 2) before choosing the bad life and are parents who support their home.

A very special thanks from all of them to @hopehuggs and her project @steemwithlove, who made it possible for these parents to bring some food to their homes.

It is really very commendable how much you do for your community, Fathers day is special around the world and giving something back to each of these fathers who have so little and yet work so hard should not be ignored.

Giving back to people, to community and supporting people is an essential part of life - and also on Steemit it is essential we all give people the opportunity to achieve the position and goals they deserve.

Thank you for sharing this noble work you have done, supporting needy people in your community with something that can help them. I hope the whole Steemit community see's this - and gives you something back for your noble and hard working efforts.

@walden , @hopehuggs , @grey580 , @whatsup I appreciate your diligence in keeping Steemit a platform filled with unique quality content. I know you are targeting this account because of previous transgressions, mistakes made in the past. I have skeletons in my own closet, mistakes I have made which I regret but like it or not they happened. @malos10 is a fine example of a young man with a great deal to share and give, I respectfully ask you remove him from your blacklist. @malos10 is now under the guidance and support from a number of high profile Steemit accounts, whatever he may have done in the past is just that - the past. I personally guarantee this account in the future will be dedicated to unique and quality content - he has the backing of many not just myself and you will see that he is both genuine and also supported.

If you feel the need to take this discussion further you can contact me on Discord c0ff33a#7845 - otherwise I expect you all to leave this young man alone. Thank you for all that you do, but he is now being shown the correct way and your services are no longer required.

Sorry, I cant do that, he was given a chance when he first plagiarized, was informed, apologized, said he would never do it again.... and did it again.
This user has shown clearly that he cannot be trusted again.
BTW, are you aware his charity posts are a scam? He keeps most of the rewards from such posts for himself, he's just using these humanitarian posts as a way to appeal to pity and deceive/scam the community.

Regards,
Walden

My 'vote' was a flag. I know and am convinced @malos10 is one of the good ones :)

Thank you for the clarification, I reached out because @walden comment was upvoted by your account amongst others. I have reached out to many, and I am aware the @malos10 may have made unwise choices in the past. I would like to assure you he is now on the right track, has a great deal of support and that will not happen again.

Retention and growth on this platform is key, when I find the only comments on an accounts posts are consistently negative and discouraging it makes me wonder how we expect this platform to grow.

If you can influence others, please let @malos10 achieve his potential, he has the support of many and what has been in the past will stay there - you can count on that.

I know, but you talk like you still think I support what @walden wrote and I don't so I flagged the post - my "vote" has a (-). I don't particularly appreciate still being lumped in with that group, when I tried to flag the post as I disagree, like you, with this undue harrassment.

As you might see in the post...

A very special thanks from all of them to @hopehuggs and her project @steemwithlove, who made it possible for these parents to bring some food to their homes.

That's me. I don't doubt Malos in the slightest and am more than happy to support him and help where I can too.

So very sorry, I did totally miss the minus and just saw the 4 votes on the comment.

I do appreciate you fighting @malos10 corner, he is working hard to improve his work and has plenty of high profile backing so if he can keep up producing quality work I think he will grow without issue.

Thank you for the swift response - and making it clear enough for an old eccentric like me to understand!

You have collected your daily Power Up! This post received an upvote worth of 0.23$.

BTW . @malos you have been clean from plagiarising for 2 months stay on that path please because i and others here have stuck out our necks for you and I do not respond well to being disappointed ... I do like your food initiative a lot and hope to see this expand and repeat ...

Thank you! The world needs more "grains of sand" like you to find and help such wonderful people. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.... and so will you.

Que alegría da saber que subiste el autoestima de una persona dándole felicidad con una cesta de comida que deberían de tener sin preocupaciones triste realidad de Venezuela
